SOTD (Sorry No Pic)

D H Harris Arlington Soap BBS
Feather AS D1
Vodskhod Blade
Semogue 1305
Acqua Di Gio Balm

I had one of those BBS shaves today you know when you have a great Scotch or a Nice Glass of red Wine or Quality Cigar or even the company of a beautiful lady wives included and it just just seems everything is perfect and you then understand no matter what else you have tried at that particular moment in time well that perfect moment was today it was with D H Harris Arlington. I recently got some good advice and guidance off Bazza & my son Chris about loading and with a quality soap like Arlington it paid off great dividends for me today. I've used a lot of different creams/soaps recently a few of you would know from my SOTD's and today I can clearly see when you buy a soap that is a little more than a lot of others there is a reason and it shows in the performance and results . Today was one of those days it just got better with each pass and the first was brilliant anyway.

Pre: Myrsol Antesol
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac 2 Band
Soap: Stirling Bay Rum
Razor: ATT S1
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, TSW Balm, Stirling Bay Rum

Finally the true scent calibre of the Stirling Bay Rum has surfaced. Orange, salt water, couldn't detect much of the cloves but it is somewhat there, bay leaves. As I stood in front of my vanity mirror lathering away, a song performed by my particular favourite J-Rock band(not to be confused with the honing stones) L'arc en Ciel's Perfect Blue begins to play in my head, whilst imagining that I'm chilling on one of Okinawa's beaches. Not that I have been to that part of Japan, but somehow it feels like Okinawa.

Shave was excellent. But I am beginning to feel that this brush couldn't hold as much lather as I'd like. Persist.

Finished with my usuals, and a splash of the Bay rum. Wow. Burns yes, but good splash. I might layer a little more balm next time. Oh, this splash would probably suit Mike's Orange, cedar wood and black pepper.

Pre: Warm towel, Pears transparent soap
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 "Pure"
Lather: D. R. Harris "Windsor" shave stick
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum "Black" [India]
Razor: EJ DE89
Post: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C", Natio Calming balm

Nice shave tonight. Used the 7 O'Clock Black blade for the first time tonight.
Made sure to go back to the tried and tested DE89. Will post my thoughts after a few more shaves.
All in all though, A nice shave tonight.
DFS result with minimal irritation. :)

Was pretty excited to pick up a Gifts and Care shipment this morning and the Myrsol products did not disappoint.
Brush: Chubby 1 Super
Soap: Myrsol Don Miguel 1919
Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Black
After: Myrsol Plastic Shave.

Marvellous shave. Can't wait to try some of the other Myrsols over the next few days.

Congrats mate! Sounds like some great pick ups.
What's the Myrsol soap like?

Cheers mate. First impressions are good. The scent is delicious. Its mostly jasmine, strong in the tub but more subtle on the face. Very pleasant. It requires a bit more effort to load the brush compared to other soaps I've been using lately, the resulting lather was creamy but a bit thin. I didn't load enough. No doubt will improve with a couple more lathers. I can still feel a hint of lanolin on the skin a couple of hours after, similar post shave feel to Mitchells.

@filobiblic - sounds like it will match the Don Miguel cologne, eh? [emoji6]

Razor: EJ DE86
Blade: 7 O'Clock Black (3)
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: WSP Rustic Barbershop
After: The Stray Whisker After Balm

Been using the Standard for a few days, and thought I should finish off the blade in the EJ as well.
This was a poor decision. The 7OC just died on the second pass, and finishing the shave was a bit of a struggle. Got there, but not an outstanding shave.

The saving grace was the new TSW After Balm - nice and soothing, pleasant mild scent, and not greasy. Nice stuff! If you haven't tried it, you should!

Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage NOS Schick Platinum Plus (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson H2 boar
Soap/Cream: Klar Seifen Rasierseife
Aftershave: Myrsol Don Miguel 1919

Different brush but same great result ...

Soap/Cream: Occams Crushed Lime Shave Cream
Brush: Maggard Razors Synthetic Shaving Brush
A/S: Nivea Men Original After Shave Splash

Been almost silent for the last few days - suffered from severe man flu since last Thursday. Still not recovered. First proper shave (but no photo) in the last five days. :)

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Weber Polished Head on an Ikon handle
Blade: Vintage Polsilver(5)
Brush: Kent BLK8
Soap: MWF
Post Shave: Natio Balm and Armaf Club de Nuit Intense for Man
Second attempt at MWF. Popped in to @Draco Noir last night and while enjoying my cup of green tea I also received a demonstration on how to lather MWF. He made it look so easy. So I gave it a go this morning. Ok I am convinced this is a top shelf soap, it just requires a heavy load and can be a little finicky with water content. However, get it right and you are rewarded with a very slick lather with a excellent post shave. The shave was excellent. Thanks to everyone for the tips.

With a warmer day it was definitely time for a shave to match! I really dig the traditional floral scent of Violets so this was a perfect shave for me. The Chatillon Lux La Forêt de Liguest Post-Shave Salve was superb. Compliments the rest of the products admirably and carried the scents to new complexities. Many thanks to @todras for the samples.

Absolutely excellent photo @alfredus - very different from your usual outdoor style. Did you get a new camera, or finally get a lightbox or what? Whatever, it's a brilliant image mate.

Oh, and the shave sounds really good too ;)

I too sit in the same man flu boat and have a near three day growth waiting an appointment with a straight. I have to say I have not felt this crook for ages. Hope you are recovering well.
