Since their nothing on TV night so I've decided to shave again before I get myself bloody bored, and I'm going to read my ebook "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and a nice great big belt of Ardbeg 10yrs old scotch whisky while I'm reading and relaxing. (y);) before I  myself to bed.

"Fantastic Synth-Plastic"
Proraso pre
Stray Whisker 452/24 Synthetic
Barrister & Mann Cheshire
Merkur 34C HD
Gillette Yellow blade
Alum
Myrsol Plastic
Boss Elements EDT

I'm very Impressed with the set of 3 Stray Whisker brushes. This was my first use, starting with the smallest synthetic. In brief - it beats all my other synthetics (plisson l'occitane, Ubersoft 2 and TGN). It splays better, has superior backbone and just feels better overall.

Bring on the mega 28 synthetic and the 26 badger for my next shaves.

Razor: Vintage Gillette NEW head on 'Bren' SS Handle
Blade: Vintage NOS English Personna (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven Lilith
Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co - Stirling Gentlemen

Early start taking my wife to the airport. Amazing how good a shave you can have fairly quickly!

SOTD:

Pre-Shave: Shower
Razor: Merkur Heavy Classic 34С
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: The Stray Whisker 452/28
Soap/Cream: The Shaving Shop - Hédonisme
A/S: The Stray Whisker #1 After Shave Spiritz
ASB: The Stray Whisker After Balm
Cologne: Boss Bottled Intense
Post-Routine: hot rinse, alum, cold rinse, splash, dry skin, balm, cologne

Razor: Merkur 33C
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: T&H 1805
Post shave: Lucky Tiger Aspen followed by Simpsons Aftershave Balm
First time in about a year that I've used this boar brush and forgot how well it works. Might have to keep it in sight so I grab it more often.

Nice shave mate :)

Very interested in this product, how does it perform and what scent does it have ?
It was my first time using this, Mark kindly included it when I purchased a Simpson brush a while ago. The balm is basically scentless. It seems to be well moisturizing and soothing after my shave. Can't really judge it after one use so will provide some feedback after a few more applications.

Pre: Nil
Soap: Mystic Waters - Lemongrass & Blue Gum (love the strong lemon with menthol here!)
Brush: Shavemac Custom 2 Band
Blade: Hosi Tombo 8000
Post: PAA - Malbolge
And so we come full circle. Again? After discussion of drying skin - lets call a spade a spade - xerosis, and the fact that the pre products I have been using I know don't work but use them anyway, I decided not to use them - durr. So a quick, cool soapless shower to wake up (yes I used soap last night!) and dive straight into a face lather. Two pass shave (WTG, ATG) pat dry and done.

Result? DFS+. Almost as good as the four pass shave I have been experimenting with this week and more than good enough for a work day. After 45min I could feel the tell tail tightening of my cheeks and that slight pain with a big smile but not as bad as previous that has seen me doing two or three applications of a balm. So I threw on the aftershave. Two hours later my face is just fine and dandy, soft, pleasant, and smelling sweetly.

So;
Prorasso Red preshave: I'm just going to bin you. Why use you when you do nothing.
Myrsol Antisol: I'm undecided. I do love how you smell, and how you make my skin feel so I will try you out tomorrow (no A/S on a Sat) and see if you keep the xerosis at bay as effectively as PAA has done. If not, you're going on the BST.
TSW After Balm: I have two tubes of you... I might keep you for non A/S days. With the methol and alcohol included you are not suitable for night time use.
Shaver Heaven Balm: You have been awesome for pre-bed application and that's where you'll stay.
Thayers WH: Bin for you... waste of time and money.
Alum Block: Never liked you anyway... you can stay in the drawer for some reason. I a styptic pencil but anyway.
Occams Pre-shave Soap: You are a great soap, so I will use you as that but not as part of my shave routine.

Interesting...do you think the two less passes this morning may also contribute to less dryness (less soap, less brushing and less scraping all those oils from your skin)?

Is Don Miguel ..is good
Proraso pre
Stray Whisker 452/28 Synthetic
Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Muhle R41 (2011) on UFO TiTan handle
Gillette Yellow blade
Alum
Myrsol Don Miguel 1919
Penhaligon's Opus 1870

Unique floral scent on the Don Miguel. Reminds me of frangipani.

The 452/28 brush is unlike any other in my collection. Big and bold.

Brush: - Whipped Dog Silvertip in Resin Handle 24/48mm
Lather: - LEA Classic Shaving Soap
Razor: - RazoRock Old Type Open Comb
Blade: - Polsilver Super Iridium #1
Post Shave: - Alum Block / Speick Aftershave Splash / The Stray Whisker Aftershave Balm (Australian made)

I honestly don't know why I'm shaving again and I honestly don't know what came over me, otherwise I'm completely lost and it must've been some kind of Viagra Wet Shaving off I went and start shaving again because I've already shave since last night.

How are you liking the LEA Classic soap?

It's one of my all time favourites!
