Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
Soap: Valobra
Razor: ATT Kronos M2
Blade: Vintage Wilkie Supersword
Post: Myrsol Antesol, Thayers Superhazel, Emu Oil

Spent a pleasant hour this arvo shooting the breeze with @Becephalus - a great guy.
I've given the face a rest for a few days, and only applied witch hazel and emu oil. This has done a good job in clearing up my skin, so it was time to shave again this evening.
I acquired an ATT Kronos with all three open comb plates a few months ago, but was keeping it in reserve until I was ready. Tonight was the night!
First impressions - even though I used the mildest plate, it was significantly more aggressive than the AS-D2. There was also more feedback. Despite feeling the blade much more on my face, I achieved a terrific 3 pass shave with only minor irritation, which was residual anyway. Very impressed (and very close). I have very wiry bristles on my neck below the chin that grow both N-S and E-W, and is often a problem area. The open comb design of the razor combined with the excellent vintage Wilkie blade sheared these bristles cleanly and smoothly - outstanding.
The Valobra soap flies under the radar, but in my book is a top shelf soap. I use a Valobra stick as my go-to travel soap, and the puck version is also a favourite of mine. It may not have the whipped cream appearance seen in other soaps, but it offers a superlative medium for a close and comfortable shave.
Kept the Emu Oil going in order to continue with the skin repair - I've only been using it for 5 days, but my early impressions are very favourable regarding efficacy for treating irritation/inflammation.
Enjoy your weekend, fellow wet shavers.

Razor: Ummm, now there is the problem
Blade: would have been on the razor
Brush: Muhle Travel Synth
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Stirling Ozark Mountain

With all my trips with carry on and a real razor I took my Gillette Sensor out of my travel kit and forgot to put it back :(

It is the little things that trip you up - sweat the little things!

Have a good weekend gentlemen blokes!

SJOL 26mm ST
Gillette Fatboy
Stone Cottage Hesperide Shaving Cream
Chatillon Lux Vide Poche Salve
Chatillon Lux Vide Poche Aftershave

Ran with a 7 on the fatboy and that seems to be the magic number for me, cracking lather from the Stone Cottage and a lovely herbaceous citrus scent. A 2 pass as usual, finishing up with some Vide Poch on 2 fronts. A nice way to start the weekend.

Enjoy your shaves you glorious bastards :)

Initial thoughts on the X3 @SpeedyPC?

Initial thoughts on the X3 @SpeedyPC?

@nsavage it's too early to comment on the X3 slant and the only small issue I can find was a bit difficult to shave under the bloody nose, because the blade is not closer at the end of the base plate going XTG.

@SpeedyPC I understand what you mean but have not had any issues myself. A lot of modern razor designs have the blade ends covered like the X3 does (off the top of my head - Wunderbar, 102 Slant, Stealth Slant). You will get used to that fairly quickly I would think.

Gem Star
Gem blade (2)
B&M Rhapsody soap and splash
Shavemac 24mm 2band custom
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (with a hint of jasmine EO)

Thanks to the generosity of members I am enjoying trying out an SE. Second shave with the Gem 'Star' and Gem blade. Nice shaver. I really notice the blade stiffness. I found the handle to be almost parallel to my face making holding it a little awkward so I bent open the head a little. I wonder has this angle closed up with in transport or storage over the years. Regardless, much better now. Easy loading, nice balance. Handle could be thicker but it's fine.

First use of a Tonique splash. Scent does differ from the soap but only in that the prominent notes in the splash are not so prominent in the soap. Seems like a great product.

Not a lot to say on this mornings proceedings other than they were very well received. Superb lather, glide and cushion from the CF and the unmistakable scent of fresh lime essential oil. Rounded the innings off with some CF balm and then some of my own doings. Nice, relaxed Sunday.

Have a capital day, and do enjoy your shaves chaps! :)
