Sorry to hear it mate.
I've been wondering why guys use cartridge razors when traveling, is it because you can take them in carry-on luggage?

Yep - carts are cool, not DE's or staights.
I try to travel light on work assignments and use a backpack and carry-on suitcase; hence no checked luggage. Too many baggage nightmares. My favourite was a trip to Nevada, when my checked suitcase turned up in Uruguay!

Gotcha. What a drag!

Brush: "The Joker" T's Turnings Handle with New Forest 3band Badger
Soap: B&M - Rhapsody
Blade: Parker 510 (6/8 full, square)
Strop: Kanoyama #30'000
Splash: B&M - Rhapsody

Hrrrmmm lovely scent, very nice. 5hrs later and still going strong. Blade isn't as sooth as I like so going back to the hones. Maybe I rushed this one. Another great shave though.

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce
Brush: Paladin PK47 28mm Tigris Perla
Soap: Mike's Orange, Cedarwood and Black Pepper
Razor: Bengall 5/8
A/S: Speick

Just when I thought I was getting good with this straight shaving malarkey I go and cut myself. Not a nick, a cut. It looks like a duelling scar. Complacency is the enemy of smooth shaving.

Brush: EJ Large Silvertip
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Elka Stainless
Cream: OSP Barbershop
A/S: Reef Point Barbershop

A quick and easy shave with some new gear. The EJ brush is very nice, not at all dense but more than capable of providing a lovely face lather.
OSP cream is just as good as the soap although I'm pretty certain this particular jar has been mislabeled, scent is identical to the OSP Fougere soap and the Reef Point A/S is great, smells very similar to Shaverheaven Barbershop.

That sounds like the start of a cracking story Tom... how did you go with the Russians in UAE or shouldn't I ask ?
Нет, товарищ. Водка вызвала проблемы!

Pre: Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: DR Harris Best Badger H3
Soap: Speick Stick
Razor: Gillette Fusion cart (4)
Blade: PSI (3)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
A/S: Acca Kappa Muschio Bianco solid cologne

Back to sea level, but far from home. Water still soft as, resulting in luxurious lather from the Speick stick and trusty DR Harris H3 brush.
Pretty good shave - my skin seems to have adjusted after the initial "shock" of the cart's tugging.
I am, however, looking forward to a proper shave in the near future.

The second innings of the Derby and still reasonably sharp, not sure I will want to take it to 3 shaves with the blade though. A nice and scented shave this morning, a good way to start the much welcomed friday.

Fair dinkum, have good day youse blokes :)

First outing of the Aladdin's Spice after mail call yesterday. I thought the cinnamon wouldn't be quite as strong as it is off the puck. I worried this would irritate my skin, and unfortunately was right. This was just a slight burning irritation that lasted 15 mins and seems to be going.

The scent when lathered was actually quite balanced. The cinnamon was subdued and gave the orange and other scents a chance to shine. This "soap" has a really soft consistency, what I would call a cream. The other 3 I've used are a little firmer, more croaps.

Got a polsilver brown in the Rockwell this morning, and seems to be a great pairing.
