Tobacco Thursday... broke out the slant today. Really struggling to find a reason to keep all these when the Rockwell just does it better for me.
Super cologne that. For mine pairs well with Caties LPV or I Coloniali Mango Oil.

Razor: Vintage EverReady British 'E' bar SE
Blade: GEM SE blade (1)
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Brush with Envy White 24mm knot set at 50mm
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap - Barbershop
Aftershave: APR - SV – Sandalwood, Lime, Verbena

Back on the horse with hayfever a little more under control today. Decided to give the 'E' bar a run - so named because of the LACK of any letter in this circle -

The US made ones have a 'G' stamped in there, with nothing stamped and being made in England it was dubbed the 'E' bar. A really stylish looking razor IMHO -

Well yesterday was a lot of work and the humidity in Sydney was a killer I have to say, I've never been so glad to call it a day and hit the aircon - that is prior to remembering I had some work related drafting and preparation to do, so burning the midnight oil it was until the wee hours. I felt like a bit of a reward this morning being Sunday and all so I reached for the luxurious Stone Cottage Shaving Cream, like most creams you use a little more but the cream from Stone Cottage is worth every penny in my book, a lovely powdery Fougère with plenty of lavender and some very subtle notes up top that really invite comparisons to the best English creams.

I could not resist the opportunity to pair the Fougère shaving cream with something absolutely appropriate being the 'General Ledger', I could have reached for the citrus dominant soaps and splashes, however I have a week of work ahead where most of them will see high rotation and I felt like something of a more refined character. A nice shave despite the bloody humidity, 2 passes and back to my Feathers for today with a nice cold water drenching to close proceedings.

I have very limited quantities available of the balms and splashes myself and others have been posting in our SOTD's over the past few weeks, if you are so inclined you can see the full list now as the big kahuna ala monsta has most graciously and kindly, granted me the necessary permissions for me to post and sell in the Artisan Forum.

Have a bloody good day you guys :)

Gosh that's a fancy looking razor, you never cease to amaze me with the esoteric (and often pristine) kit you surface with @Mark1966.

It is lovely to my eye, one of the best looking SEs around IMHO. Shaves well too!

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce
Brush: Paladin PK47 28mm
Soap: Le Pere Lucien
Razor: Bengall 5/8"
Post: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

The Bengall is a short 5/8 and tends to give a bit of chatter on my stupidly tough beard. The LPL wasn't as slick as I could have got it. And yet a BBS with zero irritation and, more importantly after the last few shaves, zero nicks.

Sensational!!
2 passes WTG and DFS++
Suds in a bowl tonight and the most fantastic lather.
Lather produced by my large Italian style Omega #98 modified with a Red Gum handle.
It is a longer handled large Barber Shop style boar bristle brush.
My blade of choice tonight was a Sonnal 11/16" .
This blade is either German made in Japan or Japanese original style.
Or I'm totally wrong :)
Finished with Macadamia nut oil/Lemon Myrtle.

Razor - Merkur 34C HD
Brush - Omega synthetic
Blade - Permasharp
Cream - TOBS Rose
Aftershave - Proraso splash
Balm - The Stray Whisker Balm

Have been enjoying the TOBS but since I got the Barrister & Mann I have gone off it, the Barrister and Mann is just an exceptional soap.

Yet Another RazorGuy Shave

Yet another RazorGuy shave. This is how I call my shaves when I use the homemade shave products I make as a hobby and for fun. I must say I can't stop using my newest Mastro Livi Club Shave Brush 2016 Edition because I like it very much! This shave brush, which can be ordered until 31 December 2016, has a super luxurious super silvertip badger loft and a beautiful handle which perfectly fits in my hand. Very balanced and with the right weight, it is a joy to use. As for the razor, I wanted to use this Mastro Livi "Perugia 13.12.14", a straight razor Mastro Livi made in occasion of the event held in his laboratory at the end of the 2014. I am one of the few lucky persons to have this beautiful straight razor. The final touch has been provided by my Bay Rum aftershave, a fragrance I really like.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: RazorGuy Shaving Soap
  • Brush: Mastro Livi Club Super Silvertip Badger 2016, Poplar - Black Ebony - Stainless Steel - Lapis Lazuli Handle, 26mm knot
  • Bowl: Old Barber Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi "Perugia 13.12.14", 15/16 Full Hollow, Spanish Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
  • After Shave: RazorGuy Bay Rum

Razor: Vintage EverReady British 'E' bar SE
Blade: GEM SE blade (2)
Brush: Vintage Butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap - Barbershop
Aftershave: APR - Un côtelette de porc – Pork Chop

The SEs really do give a great shave - if you have not tried one you do need to do yourself a favour and pick one up and give it a run.

Occam's Crushed Lime Shave Cream

APR - Sandalwood, Lime & Verbena Aftershave

A great start to the week with the acidic and deeply citrus Occam's which pairs superbly with the Sandalwood Lime Verbena, an ideal combination of scents for the warm and sultry weather. Every time I use Occam's I am reminded what a first class product Darcy makes, the consistency, scent and performance of the cream is world class and makes for a very enjoyable shave, even for a Monday morning.

Have a bloody good one! :)

Hot Towels

Proraso Pre - Green
Proraso Green
Proraso Brush
Witch Hazel, Bulldog Original ASB

Another two pass WTG DFS. Blade skipped once (operator error in not stretching the skin...), giving me a tiny cut but it was gone by the end of the shave. The blade is certainly a lot more forgiving after the first few shaves and is still going strong. I was travelling last week and couldn't post but the shaves were uneventful and one was with a disposable (due to carry-on...). I like the post shave feel of the Proraso Green - the menthol and eucalyptus hang around for awhile - I always re-lather at the end of the shave.

One experiment I tried last week was with a Lea shave stick (which I am loving!) and my Omega 80266 brush vs my Proraso brush (an Omega 49 with a 5mm shorter loft). From the same amount of soap rubbed on my face, the bigger brush made more lather... same moisture content and everything else. I thought it was interesting anyway - it doesn't necessarily mean using more product...

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Weber PH UFO Titan L
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Paladin Lotus
Lather: Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Lovely shave today - but for some strange reason I had lots of weepers...I guess it happens from time to time and it was certainly not the fault of the beautiful Mike's lather (picture here)
