Two passes with a nice twist tonight. Scuttle lather, Rituky Japanese 6/8 full hollow and the twist a Henckels 3-4/8 Sculpting or mustache blade. The small blade is both easy to maneuver and difficult to control. As the blade is so narrow a slight alteration at the scales changes the angle at the cutting edge very quickly. Translation: strawberry striped lather if you loose concentration. It certainly made the top lip much easier to shave though.
A very solid 9/10, DFS+

Romera 2 Band Manchurian
Jabonman "Vetiver Haiti"
Australian Private Reserve "Un côtelette de porc" (Pork Chop) After Shave and Balm

The Jabonman was my first Vetiver scent and initially I hated it. Strangely enough it quickly grew on me and has become one of my favourite scents. I got teh best lather yet out of the Jabonman today and was most impressed. @Draco Noir had some doubt as to whether the Romera was actually a two band and I have to admit that I too was unsure to start with. The way the brush behaves however to me indicates that it is indeed a 2 band brush and is wonderful to use. Topped off today with the Private Reserve "Pork Chop" and I have shared some of my thoughts here https://paste-and-cut.com.au/commun...-reserve-review-thread.3376/page-2#post-86003

A top class shave to start off the week.

Pre: Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Thater 4125/2
Soap: Razorock SMF
Razor: ATT S1
Blade: Vintage Polsilver
Post: alum, witch hazel, TSW After Balm, Razorock SMF

Brush is excellent, amazing first impression. The knot is nothing I have tried before. However, I over estimated the water that the brush was holding onto. Lather wasn't as hydrated as I liked. But nonetheless, it still gave me a good shave irritation and a couple of minor nicks here and there.

Razor: Vintage EverReady British 'E' bar SE
Blade: GEM SE blade (3)
Brush: Vintage Butterscotch Simpson 'The Duke'
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap - Barbershop
Aftershave: APR - Suitably Attired Australian (Balm)

The 'E' bar really does produce a great shave and the Mike's a great lather. Thoughts on the APR balm here - Australian Private Reserve - Review Thread

D. R. Harris Arlington Shave Cream
D. R. Harris Arlington Aftershave Milk
D. R. Harris Arlington Aftershave

I was in the mood for a quality citrus shave today and there are few better than Arlington in my book, a quintessential Engligh take on the citrus scent that is less bold than the Italian but still manages to work. From load to lather in 1.5 minutes with this cream, 2 passes then on with the milk, aftershave and deodorant. No complaints from me.

Have a good one! :)

Pre - Lather/Hot towel
Brush - Semogue 620
Soap - Speik Soap
Razor - Edwin Jagger Kelvin
Blade - Polsilver Super Iridium
Post - Alum, Australian Private Reserve - les généraux du grand livre

This morning I returned to my first soap I got when I started wet-shaving, since it seemed to pair the best with the APR - les généraux du grand livre.
The Speik was ok, but didn't offer much protection and left my face feeling a little dry. It is no Artisan soap. I had a good shave all the same and the APR made up for lack of moisturising from the Speik. :)

Shower
Feather AC DX with Pro Blade (13)
Tim's Greek Peach + glycerine
Omega 80266
Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive ASB

Another great two pass WTG shave. Blade isn't shaving quite as close as it used to but still not tugging and not inflcting any damage. I tried adding some glycerine to my wet face before the Tim's as I found it a bit dry previously. The addition made for a creamier, more voluptuous lather but didn't really make it anymore slick - which was what I was going for. Still a worthwhile addition though. Might give it a try for other soaps that are a bit dry like Proraso Green.

Pre: Proraso Green Pre/Post
Razor: Rockwell 6 S (4,2,2)
Blade: Gillette 7'O'clock green (3)
Soap: Proraso green
Brush: Omega boar
Post: Alum, Emu Oil, Brut

Fantastic shave this morning. I feel like I'm getting consistently good shaves now. And it seems like I've got the hang of all my razors also. Still got lots to learn, but happy with the progress I've made since the start of the year. (y)

2 pass with 5/8" Magnetic Platypus straight. @Sxot I think you have one of these blades? Very good blade with a very keen edge.
Scuttle lather using my Semogue 2000 Boar. The big Boar knots in a scuttle make a major amount of lather.
Finished off with the Macadamia/Lemon Myrtle oil mix.

Soap: SC Hono(u)r
Brush: Omega S-Brush
Razor: Fatip Grande
Blade: Feather (1)
Post: Fine American Blend, SC Vision balm

First shave in about a week, so I left the job to one of my most aggressive razors and sharpest blades.

Haven't used Soap Commander soaps in a long time. The performance was outstanding. I always found them to lack cushion, but either my technique has improved (more likely) or they've tweaked the formula. The scent is nice, not overly strong, but very pleasant.

Very close shave. Couldn't use this razor/blade combo every day though!

Pre: Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Thater 4125/2
Soap: Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Razor: ATT S1
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, TSW After Balm, Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Still getting the hang of the brush. I may have started a little too dry again. Will get there.

Razor: Vintage EverReady British 'E' bar SE
Blade: GEM SE blade (4)
Brush: Vintage Butterscotch Culmak reknotted in TGN Finest
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap - Barbershop
Aftershave: APR - Suitably Attired Australian (Balm)

Another "4:xx" shave for my last business flight of the year!

Despite the hour it is great to start the day in such a wonderful way - have a good one guys

If you had to do it again would you buy the S-1? Can you compare to the C37?
