Preshave: Proraso Green
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89 with Windrose handle
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti
Post Shave: Razorock Lime balm and Musgo Real Orange Amber
Three pass shave for two days growth. It was sublime. Superb soap and Polsilver made easy work of the whiskers removal. Ready for lunch.

Brush: Pl'occitane
Soap: Caties Bubbles Black Bergamot LE
Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Schick Premium
After-shave splash: @Golbourn&sons Neroli & Chamuscado splash

First use of the synthetic brush in quite a few weeks. I must say that I miss the badgers already! [emoji23] I think I've become a brush snob. I do appreciate the softness of the Plisson though.

If Tallow Saturday is going to be a thing, it needs more of a ring to it. Maybe Beef Fat Sat?

I hear you - but we wanted to be inclusive and not leave out those pork and lamb lovers

We could do Suet Saturday though...or maybe dripping Mondays :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

SOTN

well gents even though it was a short week it felt like a long one. So to massage out the kinks I treated myself to the best, Santa Maria Novella. As good as it has been using shaver heaven this week, SMN makes everything else just seem like canned goo. Post shave is unbeaten IMO. Now having only 5 brushes has meant each has been receiving the attention they deserve. They Chubby continues to develop and mature into the legend it is.

Brush: Simpsons M7 Manchurian
Razor: EJ 89
Blade: Vintage British Personna
Soap: Wickhams Imperial Tonic
A/S: Imperial Leather

Another great shave with the British Personna blade. Think it's up to 7 shaves now and still no noticeable decline in performance.
Also forgot how much I enjoy the scent of Imperial Leather A/S. Takes me straight back to my childhood and the old bars of Imperial Leather soap that never seemed to get smaller. Unlike the rubbish stuff Cussons now sell, lucky if they last a month.

There are some decisions one makes in life and Acqua Di Parma was a right decision awesome lather / slickness just a great scent unlike some Tub form soaps bought this one won't get used 2/3 times and collect dust only to be be passed on somewhere. It will get used to the end.

Razor: Gillette F4 Fatboy (5)
Blade: Wilkinson Sword 'Light Brigade' (20)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Le Pere Lucien Le Savon du Barbier
Aftershave: Le Pere Lucien Lotion du Barbier

Not wanting to be an April Fool and aiming to get some balance before Tallow Saturday Themed Shave Day I had to go for one of my favourite non-tallow soaps.

A nod in your direction too @alfredus with a cheeky grin ;)
That FatBoy could do with some TLC & Numbers repainted I can see

Kicking off Tallow Saturday with (drum role please)

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce Soap
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Best
Soap: Mikey Lee Soapworks: The Kraken
Razor: iKon DLC Slant
Blade: Voskhod (1)
After-shave splash: Speick

Loaded and loaded the Chubby to ensure it didn't hog the lather. Rewarded with a glorious slick lather that smells of dolphin ice-cream.
The Slant is heavy and I have to relearn it a little if I've not used it for a few weeks, but it gave a very pleasurable BBS. I still think it's the best shave I own.

No tallow, but here goes:

Brush: Simpson Duke 2 pure
Soap: Proraso green
Razor: EJDE89
Blade: Astra
After: alum, Nivea sensitive balm

3 passes today with the final one ATG.
Very pleasant shave today. Not BBS, but DFS and very little irritation. It seems that I may have been using to much pressure previously, contrary to what I thought. Experimenting with where I hold the razor has helped with this realisation! [emoji106]

The Fatboy with some blade that's been in there a bit.
Plissitane.
@Barrister & Mann Le Petit Chypre, soap & splash.

Damn. loaded it hard, needed a metric fuckton of water but was rewarded with the most ridiculous lather and amazing scent. So damn slick, I swear Will has improved the Latha base too. I dub it 'Glisstha'.

Splash had a real heating effect, like an opposite Menthol. Slight burning sensation*, not painful but certainly uncomfortable. It did settle down, and the drydown is amazing as it keeps changing notes. SWMBO approves... in fact she really really likes it.

Will's still a genius/10.

* This splash contains an AHA which may increase sun sensitivity, and the labelling states you should be careful of this. I suspect it was the AHA working on my skin that caused the slight burn.

Tallow Saturday

Pre: Face Wash
Soap: SH Absolution
Brush: Simpson's Duke 2 'pure'
Razor: Friodur Inox 6/8
Post: Homemade Aftershave Tonic and SH 'Drogon Noir' AB

3 passes to a BBS this morning. First try with the 'Absolution' today, the scent is very pleasant and fresh, took no time to get a nice lather (pic of lather in the lather shots thread) then proceeded to face lather for 2-3 mins till thick and creamy. Only bad point from the soap is that it dried out a bit .
Razor is still sharp as hell, no problem with a weeks growth haha. Post shave was great my homemade aftershave tonic (ingredients: witch hazel and tea tree floral water) and then the intoxicating 'Drogon Noir' aftershave balm (very nice!), no greasy feeling, absorbs well into skin as well. All in all another great shave.
Have a good weekend gents (y)

Here we are. Not Tallow Tuesday, not Fat Friday, but Tallow Saturday. Go figure!

I really agonised over this one actually. I really wanted to go with Absolution. It really is tops but in the end I had to give it to my all time favourite soap. There really isn't much between them but I love the clean soapy powdery scent of MWF and with the post shave feel takes it into the lead. It looses points on lather ability. Sorry Anthony. You have a brilliant soap but it's hard to compete with a formula that has been working since 1893!

Since I am about to head off to mow the lawn I needed some zing so I had to finish it all off with a smothering of Arctic Mango Balm - Shaver Heavens wonder drug for the face.

Had to go with Will for tallow Sat as well.

B&M Lavanille
Rockwell 6s #2
Feather (1)
RR Monster Synth
Myrsol Blue and Thayers to finish

Almost a week on setting 2 with the Rockwell and just as impressive today with a feather. Will move to the #3 head on Monday for a week to see how that rolls. Aiming for a week on each before a review.

The Lavanille is just awesome. It's my go to soap when I want a special shave

Ready for two kids parties back to back /sigh
