Love? Not sure yet. Thought it was love at first sight when she first arrived. A beautiful looking brush, but she needs to open-up a bit more before I can pass judgement. 21 sessions so far and she is getting better. It seems that you need to give Semogue's more time than usual before they can start showing their true colours.

I got my man badge back tonight. My first real full straight shave since coming out of hospital.
About a DFS- but quite satisfying none the less. Two passes.
Brush was an in expensive $6 Chinese horse hair [can faintly smell the stable on the south side of the Yangtze]. It is only a 19mm knot but seems to lather way above its' pedigree.

Just a bad shave. I'm going to blade the blade which may have been a duff one as it seemed tuggy, either that or it didn't like the change of razor to the standard?

So played around with a few things (soap and blades) when I was on setting 2, but going to keep the permasharp and SH for the evaluation of other settings (4 shaves per blade and setting). Gotta say, having some very fun shaves with this razor.

The Light Brigade is dead. Maybe I could have squeezed it out till the end of the week but why ruin the memory of a great blade. If only they made them like this today!

The Roam and Cat 'o' Nine Tails is becoming a favourite combination. Oddly the roam smelt more leather and burnt tobacco than paspalum today.

Three pass shave. Still had some Mitchells Wool Fat in my bowl so whipped it up, added some Musgo Real and a few drops of glycerin and bang a lovely uber lather. After a recent conversation with @Lifes a Peach regarding the Standard razor I tried it with a Feather blade. An excellent pairing. This blade works so well with this razor. No nicks or cuts or irritation. Wonderful shave.

Scent: Tabac Lotion

First shave with the Tanifuji fresh from the Honemeister... man does it highlight how poor the edge is on the Parker 510 I have been using these past three weeks. I thought my stropping/shaving was pretty good... maybe not. New strop on the way as this one is cupping (covex at least) so maybe that will help. Parker is going to have some runs on the crox and see if I can bring it back. Of course there are differences in blades. The Tanifuji glides and signs better than the Parker does so there is that. Maybe I need a finishing stone to touch up these razors sooner than I thought!
 
Severe heatwave coming to Darwin later in the week so thought I would use the La Toja stick one last time before I get the big menthol guns back out.
A very quick rub over the face with the soap, brush away with the Omega for a short while, and I get enough lather for at least 4 passes - I have to wonder at the quality of the water in the places where some of you have to load a brush for over a minute.
Finished off with Floid Vigoroso (+ extra menthol) for another great shave. I really should get around to buying some more menthol crystals to supercharge the other alcohol splashes I have.

Not SOTD related but just a note let the whole Shave Stick note follow up quoted go I've arranged with Mark to have mine removed from the Acquisition Thread all good though ;)

So first shave with the St James 24mm knot 'Super Badger' and the 'Tundra Artica' from Saponificio Varesino. The St James brush for the first use was alright, it holds a bit more water then my Chubby 2 'Pure', not as much backbone either. But I can't wait to see how she goes when she is broken in :).
Now the soap, the smell actually caught me straight away, and all I can say is 'Nice, very nice' imo. The scents are; Oud, cedar, tangerine, cashmeran, Damascan rose, patchouli, amber, sandalwood and leather. The lather with the new brush was a little tricky of course, but that will change soon. Post shave was amazing as well due to the added Icelandic Lichen and Cranberry. All in all a decent shave.

BOM now says you're getting an EXTREME heatwave. You'll need some extreme menthol to balance it out.

It's great finding a razor that just seems to "fit" for you. Makes for some very happy shaves.

I think it's this poor brush - you really should not be shaving with this...please send it to me to dispose correctly for you :D
