Last Night's Shave
ziLB9cS.jpg

Muhle R89 / Crystal IP Super+Platinum
Semogue 1305
TOBS Avocado
National Alum (India) / Olay Men Refreshing Energy Post Shave Toner / Natio Maximum ASB

Didn't really need a shave last night, but felt like a shave only because I had an urge. I never use to get an urge to shave in the days of using carts or electric. Another pleasant shave - probably a DFS, but close enough to a BBS - it was close and comfortable, which felt great.

Happy Shaving Everyone !!

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce
Brush: Simpson Special 1 Best
Soap: Razorock XXX
Razor: iKon DLC Slant
Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
Post: Alum, Thayers, Trumper's Coral Skin Food

This brush doesn't get much love. It was my first, but I've now get 9 others to choose from. In fact I mostly use it when I'm thinking of putting it up for sale. But then it reminds me of how excellent it truly is.
Lather shots here.

Nice setup - would love a honest comparison between this brush and your shavemac...
First use only - need a while to use it...

Preshave: Top Seven emulsion
Razor: Standard
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere
Post Shave: Nivea Balm, Fine Fresh Vetiver and topped of with Tom Ford Vetiver
Three pass shave. Six straight shaves with the Standard and continues to impress. The Polsilver works well with it but the Feather is best. The Martin de Candre is a favorite, the wife loves it and so do I. Excellent shave to end the working week
I just love the look of that Standard razor!
Is it really light?
How does the weight compare to the EJ head with your Windrose handle?

The Semogues are coming out today/tonight. What's the Fine Fresh like as a scent

Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Gillette Super Silver Orange V-3
Pre-shave: Proraso Sandalwood
Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street - Coconut
Aftershave: Nivea Original

This time I got it right, 3 passes BSS.
Note: I seriously do not understand all the negative comments I've read about the Super Silver Orange, they are quite good.

Razor: Gillette Sensor Excel
Blade: Gillette Sensor Excel Cart (?)
Brush: Muhle Travel Synthetic
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

I wasn't sure how a stick and face lathering would go in comparison to my new expectations. It is OK - Lather Shots

Brush: Shavemac 2-band Badger
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougère
Razor: Schick Injector (G-type)
Blade: Personna
After-shave splash: Myrsol Blue

First go of the injector style razor. This is what's known as a G-type I believe. Very easy to use. Angle was easy to find. The handle on this particular razor is very light; indeed the whole razor is light. But I can see why they are liked; simple and straight forward to use and gives a nice smooth shave. I'm keen to try a few more, especially the modern adaptions which have more heft to them.

Nice one mate!

Pre: GFT limes skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: DR Harris Lavender
Razor: iKon B1 OSS
Blade: Feather
Post: Thayer WH, the stray whisker sample asb

After two weeks of enduring crappy hotel disposable razors, it's great to come home to my badger and blade.

Really love face lathering now. The shavemac was amazing with the DR Harris. What a lovely brush.

Great shave begins with great preparations.

I didn't know that the skin food could be used pre shave...

Of course you can! I use it as a pre as I prefer other after shaves. I'm keen on adding a saponificio Varesino Aftershave to my den.

But what benefit does it do? I would have thought a pre-shave is about softening the beard and adding slickness to the lather, whereas GFT skin food is designed to moisturise and repair the skin after shaving.
