lol... I'm very keen to see your thoughts on the different settings over the coming days and weeks. You first shave sounds like an exact replica of mine, even down to the thoughts on the 4/5. :)

Soap: Henry Cavendish Himalaya
Razor: Rockwell 6S #1 / Satin SS Handle
Blade: Astra Platinum
Brush: eBay BEST Badger ($6.68!!!)
Post: Natio Balm / Wahl Bay Rum

First outing with the Rockwell, starting at #1 setting and will work my way up over the next few weeks testing with different states of stubble. I can tell you now that #3, #4 or #5 will end up being my sweet spot but you can't be objective without testing all settings....

With 3 days growth I knew I would struggle using the #1.... and I didn't disappoint myself! First pass barely scratched the surface and it was a bit more of a scraping session just to cut through.... 2nd pass however went very well and gave me the opportunity to feel the weight and balance, the shape of the crown under my nose and adjust my angles to suit the #1 setting. Very nice I ended up thinking to myself.

Blasphemy some people will cry when I mention this, but, half way through my first pass I swapped out the handle to the longer satin finished SS handle I picked up a few months ago. I love the extra little bit of weight and the extra length suits my grip and style. The satin finish handle actually looks very at home with the Rockwell head, if you didn't know any better you'd swear the satin handle was OEM and made to match.

Lather was OK, not great.... 2 pass shave was enough considering I will try the #1 again in the morning. Natio rubbed in and Bay Rum splashed on, sorted!!!

Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Simpson duke 2 pure
Soap: D.R.Harris Windsor
After: alum, myrsol formula "C"

Fantastic shave this morning. The Voskhod performed very well. 3 pass this morning (WTG, XTG, XTG). The formula "C" leaves the face feeling terrific. And the D.R.Harris performed well after I got enough water into the lather. First pass was a little dry, but the second and third passes were great.

Preshave: Proraso Red
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Personna Med Prep
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: ARKO shave stick (Thanks to @Lifes a Peach )
Post Shave: Razorock Lime balm and Alt Innsbruck Cologne
Three pass shave. This is my first use of ARKO. While I have had a sniff of the product and not been inspired by it, I have to say that once you lather it the scent gets stronger, but not in a good way. However, the lather is a good lather. The performance was pretty good. Lathers easily enough and stayed the distance for three passes. Post shave was also quite good. The Alt Innsbruck did a wonderful job of removing any traces of the ARKO scent.

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: SV 70th Anniversary
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: Feather

Nailed the lather this time. Loaded it well, hydrated it well. Only 2 passes with the slant, very smooth shave. Only one small weeper this time.
SV 70th anniversary is a top notch soap. One of my favourites and it will be for a long time. Looking to expand to other SV soaps. Eyeing the new "Black" Dolomiti.

P.S. not sure if this is the right place, @Psmith and myself are looking to get an MdC each. Anyone down in Melbourne's eastern suburbs interested, shoot me a PM. 3 jars is the magical number.

Soap and Balm: Stirling margaritas in the Arctic
Razor: 6S #5
Blade: permasharp (2)
Brush: RR Monster Synth

Cold, but not silly or uncomfortable.

I knew MITA would be colder than proraso, and not near the glacial, however I wasn't sure what that meant. Well, I probably can't explain it either :) What I can say, is that it was cold to the point of slightly numbing, but pleasant. Not sure I would want colder at the moment, but I may when I get used/accustomed to it. Additionally, there would be only one or two days in Brisbane that may be too cold to use it on.

Pre: Face Wash
Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 'Pure'
Soap: SH Absolution
Razor: 6/8 Fridour Inox
Post: Homemade Aftershave Tonic and Drogon Noir AB

Nice 3 pass shave this morning, the Chubby produce a great lather with the absolution; which is another great soap from @Anthony. Then finished it up with my Aftershave tonic and then the awesome Drogon Noir AB (y)

Face Wash : Shower
Brush : Fine Classic Synthetic
Soap : Speick Shave Stick
Razor : Ikon Slant DLC
Blade : Feather [1]
After Shave : Alum, Speick AS, Speick EDT

A very "Speick" and enjoyable shave today. Started with the Speick shave stick on a wet face. It was the first time I've used the Speick stick, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I needn't have worried : a few "wipes" of the stick across the shave area and some really enjoyable brush massage and voila! Great lather ready to go. I love using shave sticks - the way so little soap on the face produces abundant, thick, comfortable lather till the cows come home. Hmmm, small things and small minds they say ;)

The Ikon produced its usual brilliant shave with plenty of acoustic feedback, and two passes (XTG, ATG/XTG) were enough to produce a near BBS result. Finished the shave with a quick swipe of alum, follwed by Speick AS, then a little later some Speick EDT for some staying power. A very enjoyable shave...

I still think that if you like the fragrance (most guys seem to) of the Speick lineup, they represent one of the best value options out there.

Ooh, not had a Speick shave in a while. Don't have the toilet water, but have the other two - will have to grab them out for a shave when it cools down a little here.

Razor: Gillette Sensor Excel
Blade: Gillette Sensor Excel Cart (3)
Brush: Muhle Travel Synthetic
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

These will be my friends for the next couple of weeks.

Decent result for at least a DFS, probably better.

Off to see some more tourist sights of London today, taking my son to the Lords Tour and then meeting up with my wife and daughter to go to Hampton Court.

Great shots in this thread guys!

Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Plisson
Soap: Caties Waterlyptus
Post: Thayers, Shaverheaven Barbershop balm

Very nice one this morning, the Waterlyptus has just a hint of cooling (maybe from the peppermint?).

Definitely prefer the milder razors these days.
