Semogue 1305
Palmolive Shaving Soap Stick (Euro)
National Alum (India) / Brut AS Splash (Euro) / Natio Maximum ASB

Gotta love these shave sticks. I find Palmolive Euro to provide plenty of slickness and protection. A soapy scent, perhaps with a touch a mint - which felt refreshing and energising. After 24 uses, I believe the Semogue 1305 is finally beginning to show me some love. I made sure lots of soap was smeared on my face before lathering, but for the first time today, I had plenty of lather available for 3.5 passes. She definitely plays hard to get, but I think she is finally turning the corner.

Happy Shaving Everyone !!

Brush: Simpsons M7
Razor: Rockwell 6S - Plate 3
Blade: Rapira
Soap: Imperial Leather Stick
A/S: Imperial Leather

Great shave today. Gobs of lather flying everywhere in the bathroom, sadly most of the scent on this stick has disappeared, but the splash more than made up for it. The Rockwell worked well although I think I'll try it with plate 2 tomorrow, just a touch too aggressive today.

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: ATT S1 with Kronos (kindly loaned by @Draco Noir)
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac
Lather: Mike's Lemongrass & Eucalyptus
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Recovering from tightarse Tuesday with a wonderful shave - the lather was sensational - my poor attempt of capturing it can be seen in the lather shots.

Everyone seems to be using a brush and razor today it's weird.

No no wait it's the shave sticks!

Even I was doing it - inadvertently!

Hey, I'm playing with the cool kids!

Bah, if I'd remembered you were there you could have picked up my new blades

????

This is for yesterday's shave, been doing my posts in arrears now.

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: Omega 48
Cream: DR Harris Rose
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Feather
Post: Alum, Thayers. Pure Shea butter.

It's been too long since I have used creams, I think I truly have developed a liking towards soaps. Face lathering with soaps is the way to go for me. I find it much easier to see if the lather is ready for me.
Overall it was still an okay shave, but if my creams were to run out, I'd probably not restock them anymore.
Old merkur never fails, mild and smooth. Trusty o'Merkur.

Preshave: Proraso Red
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Personna Med Prep
Brush: Antiga Barbearia De Bairro(Thanks @Draco Noir)
Soap: Trumpers Limes
Post Shave: Nivea Balm, Fine Platinum and Burberry London EDP.
Three pass shave. Still enjoy the Trumpers cream. Its scent and performance are good enough and it was my first real shaving soap product. This little boar brush is a beauty. Holds plenty of lather and has good backbone. Tips are soft too. Ready for work and lunch.

Shaver Heaven. So so easy, so so good.
PAA Aftershave/Cologne. So so easy, so so good.

This (in various scents) is quickly becoming my standard shave. Forget the rest, this is all I need. I'm thinking about getting an atomiser for the aftershave. Anyone use one? $14 from TSW.

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Proraso White Preshave
Brush : Vie Long Epsilon Horsehair 27mm
Soap : Meissner Tremonia Dark Limes
Razor : Brucke Solingen 6/8 straight
After Shave : Alum, Lipikar Balm, Tom Ford Noir Extreme

I realised this morning that I haven't used the Vie Long Epsilon in quite a while, and decided to put that right. Today's soap is a new one in my shaving cabinet - Meissner Tremonia from Germany. Today's fragrance is called "Dark Limes", and takes a similar approach to lime as Terre d'Hermes takes to orange - a dark, dry, bitter smelling lime fragrance. Very unusual and very sophisticated. It produced a first rate lather for me notwithstanding the fact that it's vegan. At this early stage, I'm very impressed indeed with the two soaps of theirs that I've tried. There may be a new challenger here...

I selected the Brucke straight today becuase I wanted a close but very comfortable shave, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's one of the smoothest straights I've ever tried, and every shave with it is a great experience with a a great end result. The Tom Ford Noir Extreme made a lovely finish to the shave, and will remind me how good the shave was for many hours to come.

Today is lunch day with the Melbourne lunch team, and though the guys are way too tactful and polite to comment on each other's shaves, one knows for certain that ones quality of shave WILL be noticed....

First outing on the face with the new brush (did. Palm lather last night), and I get it. I get why people say badgers are the bomb. Can't wait to see what it's like after a few uses and breaks in.

I changed the handle over on the Rockwell to the Weber wave today, and wasn't as impressed. The balance just didn't seem right and gave myself a nick.

Soap performed incredibly! Love the slight cooling of the mint essential oil. Smell pre lather is like the cheap Mintie knock off (which I wasn't keen on), but lathered the Rosemary picked up and it became much more balanced.

Brush: shavemac 25mm 2 band
Soap: Stirling Rosemary Peppermint
Razor: 6S #5
Blade: permasharp (3)

It was the same for me with my Shavemac 2-band. I finally understood the love people have for badger brushes...

Beautiful shave mate. Well done.

Vintage European Shave
Today's shave is dedicated to @Mark1966 the connoisseur of vintage shave gear and currently travelling across Europe.

Brush: Seifen Thiele Badger (Germany)
Soap: Yardley Shaving Soap (England)
Razor: Kirby Beard (France)
Blade: Polsilver
After-shave splash: Myrsol Antesol (Spain)

The Yardley took a lot more water than I expected and produced a fine lather. The German brush didn't show it's age with a top performance. The French Kirby Beard razor was stellar as usual; comfortable efficiency combined with beauty. Cheating a little with the modern-yet-so-retro-looking Myrsol from Spain ended another top shave. (I should have used a vintage blade but this Pol still had some use...)

Enjoy your travels across Europe @Mark1966 ! :D
