No shaving for a few days after being out bush. What better opportunity to pull out the heavy artillery and have my first crack with the ATT H2 plate. Most guides I have read say that this set-up is second only to the Muhle R41 for aggressiveness. I loaded up with my go-to modern blade, the Polsilver super Iridium, and took the plunge.
I should preface my comments by saying that I concentrated quite hard during the shave, as I did not want to spill too much claret.
Well, what a surprise! Whilst the blade feel was obvious, the shave was very smooth and oh-so efficient. I was done after two passes - 1 WTG and 1 XTG.
I did a very brief clean up. Man - was it a close shave! When I do a final clean-up, I always have a few spots that are a bit irregular and need a quick buff to finish off. Nearly all these spots were completely smooth and needed no further touch-up.
No nicks or weepers - a real surprise.
The acid test for me will be how my skin holds up to repeated shaves with the more aggressive plate, but I am mightily impressed with my first outing.
Oh - and the B&M Rhapsody matches beautifully with its stablemate Cologne Russe.
