Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: Rockwell 6S Plate 2 on loan from @nsavage
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Paladin Lotus
Lather: Mystic Water The Brown Windsor
Post-shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

After almost 2 weeks of playing around with new gear it feels fantastic to be (almost) back with my favourite gear. I needed some Mystic Water today and although this is my last tub and there are max. 2 shaves left in there - I had to use it. A package from Michelle is on its way and I can't wait for it to arrive. The lather was simply spectacular (picture here) - but I didn't expect any thing else - especially with the Paladin.

My first shave with Rockwell 6S - I will share my thoughts, after a few more shaves - but the end result was very pleasing - many thanks to @nsavage for letting me have a go with it (y)

Perhaps I will have to pick up the soap too, then! (y)

I actually feel better that there is someone else out there who likes old spice. I have it as a deodorant, I also have a couple of vintage bottles kicking around, I know people say it's an old mans fragrance but frankly I could not care less :)

Wow man, that is a really beautiful colour palette in that photo and I love the composition - If Ron were here I bet he would say the same, stellar my friend :)

The 1980s Shave
20170506_180232.jpg

Razor: Colonial General with Stray Whisker handle
Blade: Feather Pro (1)
Soap: Uncle Jon's Fougere
Brush: TF Amber and Gold Synthetic
Post: Alum + Skin Braver AS + Bogart One Man Show EdT

Thoughts...
- A great scent family right through this experience and I was left smelling like a crisp 80s man all day. This $20 EdT is so much fun.

Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: Merkur Progress (+1/1.5)
Blade: Derby Extra (1)
Lotion: Omega Alum Stick / Mennen Skin Bracer / Nivea Post Shave Balm / Pinaud Clubman Talc

Today it was back to the basics with what for me has been the quirky Progress. (As always, YMMV).

It went well enough, smooth and reasonably close. I have not had a good experience using high-performance blades in the Progress.

Brush: Vie-Long Horse/Badger
Soap: APR, SAA
Razor: Gillette, Slim Twist
Blade: Silver Star
Post: APR, SAA splash & balm

Giving it the full SAA on a Sunday morning.
Great lather, scent and face feel to start the day!
I brought out the Slim Twist today. I love the 70's retro look of this razor and it gives a great mild shave.
Two passes and all is well

Have a great day and great shave

I have a tub of that and a tub of ad Astra on the way from Andy (2 for 2 trade), really looking forward to shaving with them after reading all the reports as to their excellent performance and fragrance.

I'm sure you will enjoy - but hey, what would I know about scents right ;)

I think you know a fair bit as to what you like however articulating your experience is not your forte let's just say. You know what you like, but communicating why you like notes, accords or design of a fragrance is something to work on. I do know you don't like overly sweet fragrances :)

So while fragrances are not your thing, you are unquestionably highly knowledgeable even encyclopedic when it comes to razors, blades and brushes particularly the type of English origin, so much so that in my memory I have never asked you a question about for example Simpsons (or made by Simpson) that you have not answered with a wealth of information, that goes for any of my questions about Gillettes when I went through my vintage/replating phase.

You also spotted that rare Hoffritz (which I would have looked at and dismissed) and kindly explained to me I might want it, why I might want it and that I really should want it and buy it and you didn't lose patience with my 'are you sure' responses. Suffice to say I bought it and it is a fantastic, massive brush that is the pride of my humble collection.

Ad Astra is also the soap I need in my den to pair with Colbeck from Chatillon Lux btw ;)

Le Pere Lucien - Traditional / Semogue Boar / Tanifuji
/ Floid 'Vigoroso'

Relaxing Sunday morning shave with the LPL - this is a great soap with one of the best containers around IMHO. The only downside is the flimsy paper label, which isn't waterproof and has long ago fallen off in a drawer somewhere - but the steel container is fantastic. Its the original "Traditional" scent - lots of lavender and maybe some citrus? Very fresh and well suited to the glorious Sydney day outside. The lather is amazing, very slick and creamy. The Tanifuji glided over in two passes with no nicks.
Splash of Floid and the last day of the weekend is underway...

Enjoy your Sunday comrades ;)

Pre: DR Harris Coconut soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Savile Row 3824 Silvertip Badger
Soap: Speick stick
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade: Vintage Polsilver (4)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdC: DR Harris Arlington

Last shave in the bush.

Got the lather right this time, and thus a very comfortable three pass shave. The Sticky is not as efficient as the ATT M2, but is very easy to master, and rarely yields weepers or irritation - a really great go-to razor.
I have enjoyed using the Arlington cologne on this trip - whilst a Fern composition from the opposite side of the Globe, it worked well with the native autumn bush scents of the Great Sandy Desert, which was surprisingly fertile and green following record rainfall.

Mastro Livi Razor Club 2017

Still on the road and still having the immense pleasure of testing this Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017. I have to say this is a super straight razor with a proverbial and impeccable edge, delivering a magnificent smooth and close shave. I can't wait to get my Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017 and I am sure it will make a great couple with the 2016 edition. The shave was very comfortable and smooth, also thanks to Cella shaving cream and the magic touch of Floïd Blue aftershave, one of the very best lotions both for performance and fragrance. I should say a great aftershave coupled to an incredibly beautiful masterpiece such as this Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017!
