Kai Guarded Blade (2)
Tim's Greek Peach
Platypus brush

Lovely 3 pass BBS done relatively quick from a shaving POV - which is making me reconsider these guarded blades. I can move fast with no real damage and the results are great - faster than a DE now that I am more comfortable with this razor as I can go a lot further before rinsing the lather and the width of the blade covers more real estate. The lather took a long time to get right though - the usual veggie story for me.

Pre: Cold water splash
Soap: APR - Bourbon Rose
Brush: The Joker (20mm T's Turning Handle, New Forest Badger)
Razor: GEM 1912
Blade: GEM Coated (0)
Post: APR - Bourbon Rose

Luberly Juberly! First run with this new razor. Nice and smooth but must have used pressure at one spot because I had a heap of tiny spots of blood. These blades are efficient that is for sure. Possibly the blade stops have worn out a bit giving more blade exposure because these are supposed to be mild. Still happy with it so grins all round with a true BBS two pass shave.

Fougere Burbon Rose is a clear winner for my favourite APR winter scent. Bright and cheerful, delicate. Just the thing for a slow winters morning to excite the senses (or at least one of them) and get my head moving in the right direction. Put me down for an EDP if there is one @todras!

I've said it before and I will say it again. For a 20mm (at the top of the handle) this brush is outstanding. My others are 28mm and larger, denser knots. I really should get another in this size/density vicinity as it's a nice break from the big boys. Flow through is excellent and with plenty of room to move in the container loading is a breeze.

Hrmmm, I think I need to clean my sink!

Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: Rockwell 6S Plate 4 on loan from @nsavage on ATT Colossus
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Maseto 2-band Finest
Lather: Mystic Water The Brown Windsor
Post-shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Last shave today with the Rockwell - and with the longer and heavier handle it felt really nice. I needed some clean-up at the end, but all in all it was very comfortable. The Mystic water soap never fails to disappoint and I was in lather nirvana today (picture here).

Brush: Simpsons Persian Jar
Soap: Dr Jon's, Savannah Sunrise
Razor: Australian, Best British
Blade: Australian, Gillette
Post: Dr Jon's, Savannah Sunrise

Tried out this 'Best British' (made in Australia) today, I will post something elsewhere about it later.
A surprisingly good, tentative, two passes, given that alignment looked a bit dodgy. A nice weight for a small razor.

The brush was great (again). First use of the Dr Jon's. A fair lather but not as good as yesterdays APR. I may have added too much water so the cushion was not as good as I would have liked, this may also be a result of it being a vegan soap. The scent in the soap seemed a little 'chemical?' but in the splash was much improved. (I'm no scent or soap expert!).
An enjoyable, interesting Sunday shave.

Have a great day and enjoy your shave
Great combo of an Aussie made razor and blade - nice work (y)

Decided to try to use up my current stocks of Gea and Brisa to make room for the new tubs from Todras. What a pleasure it is to use everyday, and that's the non-tallow versions, with tallow being even better :)

The general continues to be comfortable and deliver great shaves. TF custom brushes are always a pleasure to use.

Razor: Rockwell #4 with Merkur topcap
Blade: Spoiler @ 6
Brush: Maggard synth
Soap: Valobra Fougere hard soap
Post: Shaving Station - Kaffir Lime ASB

Nice shave today. Whilst I love the Rockwell razor head, a nice alternative I have discovered is the Merkur topcap. It bends the blade more and also feels a tad smoother. I use it just to change things up, but generally use the standard Rockwell topcap.

The Spoiler is still going strong! It still requires a bit more work than the Polsilver but the longevity seems to be going strong. I suspect I'll reach 8-10 shaves with this blade!!

Valobra didn't disappoint! Very lovely lather and I like the mild, under-stated scent. I love Valobra shaving soap, including the tallow AOS soaps.

Monday, May 15
Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Lotion: Omega Alum Stick / Old Spice A/S / Nivea Post Shave Balm

Today's shave was a very mild two-pass shave with the Slim set on 3 for the first pass and lowered to 1 for the second (both WTG). I needed to tone things down after several days of 3-pass shaves (WIG, XTG, ATG) with the Progress set at +3/+4. The mild approach with the Slim resulted in a shave that was only marginally satisfactory, and after all had settled down I was tempted to shave again. However, I demurred and the irritation has resolved. We may now proceed as always.

Needless to say, I could have simply refrained from shaving for the day, but where would be the fun (and the opportunity to learn something) by doing that?

'Where would the fun be by doing that'
Sounds like some of my morning shaves :coffee:.
Usually on these types of days I don't shave but I like your approach and something I will try.

It's funny man, in many ways I prefer the non-tallow versions of Manuel's soaps and I am really not sure why. I think I mentioned to you that recently he has upped the fragrance in many of the tallow soaps and me for me personally I find them fairly strong now, to the point of them being overly scented.

Yeah, I was thinking about it, and both versions are still on top of all other soaps for me in performance. I find the scent strength on them to be great now, so would be in the same boat as you with the new ones I think (though @Sxot would no doubt like it :) ). Going to do an order for the tobacco and sandalwood I think.

Pre shave bath soap
Feather AC DX non folding with Kai guarded blade (3)
Crabtree and Evelyn "West Indian Limes"
Proraso brush

3 pass DFS+ but not too impressed with this soap. When lathered it had the consistency of what comes out of a can of goo - no perceptible bubbles so it looks dense but it still feels very light and fluffy - no weight to it or shine. Add more water and it just breaks down, becoming thin and watery. Very little slickness and I believe that contributed to a couple of weepers although I was moving very fast - pushing the limits of what is achievable with this guarded blade. Scent was nice and unobtrusive. Considering also turning this into a bath soap - a common fate for most of my veggie soaps. Proraso and TOBS cream may become the only survivors at this rate!
