Mastro Livi RWL34: a Stellar Fabulous Edge!

The more I use a Mastro Livi RWL34 razor, the more I know how great are the straight razor made with this fabulous stainless steel. They simply take an incredible edge that, coupled with the superior Mastro Livi's craftsmanship in creating extra full hollow blades by hand and by using his wheel grinders only, give a super smooth and close shave. I am so happy I took this Mastro Livi RWL34 with me for this month's trip and it is giving me the very best shaves. As for the rest of the today's shave setup, I used an Omega bristle brush which easily mounted a rich lather from Cella shaving soap, ended with the very cool and refreshing touch of the magnificent Floïd Blue aftershave. A perfect Mastro Livi RWL34 shave!
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Cella Shaving Soap
  • Brush: Omega Bristle 89
  • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Travel Loom Strop and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
  • After Shave: Floïd Blue

Razor: Vintage British Aristocrat #15

Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' soap
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' splash
Aftershave Balm: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' balm

Switched across to a modern blade, one of my few Feathers, never tried them in a #15 before and I wanted the security of a good lather and post shave products, so defaulted to the APR!

Close 2 1/2 pass shave. Some small nicks and one weeper. Gotta watch this new blades - they will bite!

,

Mondayitis - means a no nonsense, lets do this, shave.

Preshave: Nil
Brush: Nil
Razor: Merkur 30C
Blade: Feather
Soap: Whatever's in the shower (happened to be Washpool Farm)
Post Shave: Nil
Technique: Shower shave. This razor is so mild you just about need to take a running jump at it, so not much technique just 'have at it'. I do not use this technique with my Muhle R41.

@alfredus, calling @alfredus

I think we need a little 'intervention' here mate - can you tell this guy why a decent lather is the most important part of ANY shave?

PFT - 'shower shave' - something my wife does for her legs ;)

If I do a decent lather the 30C is flat out finding my face.:) That's why I love the straights, but today was not the day:). Besides, I was using Washpool Farms, even it wasn't shaving soap.

Brush: Muhle Silvertip Synthetic 21mm
Soap: P&B Citra Royale
Razor: GEM 'G-Bar'
Blade: GEM of course (3)@the_shaving_sailor

Phoenix & beau, great scent, easy lather and performance. Glad I ordered their Imperial Rum.
So the GEM, Wow first mild razor that I have discovered so far that gave me a very efficient smooth shave. Walked to work whistling with a bouncy step and occasional skip or two.
@the_shaving_sailor maybe you need to borrow my G-Bar.

Love days like these.

Unfortunately I think we are beyond the intervention state here...we will have to wait, until the patient is so far gone, that he comes to his senses on it's own...shower, no brush, no shave soap...I'm just shivering here
