One for you @the_shaving_sailor Christmas in July?

That's bloody excellent!

Rockwell on #2 today as I shaved late yesterday for a dinner party so needed the mild setting today.
Loaded up with a new polAg and got a nice DFS.

I'm really loving the RR Bruce brush but more than that, I just love synthetics.

I used Trigodon Deflavra soap (the only good shaving soap made in India). It's wonderful performing soap for sure but leaves my skin just a tad dry, which isn't surprising as it's basically an MdC clone worth added shea butter.

Last shave before coming home and this travel setup (ATT S1 Colossus, Muhle XL Synthetic, Stirling Bay Rum and Voskhod/Ladas) is truly superb and works well in various settings...Summer is great, but 30+C for 3 weeks in an old European city with just about no air con in sight is almost too much for me...underfloor heating here I come (y)

Safe travels mate!

Brush: Vulfix 403 Pure Badger
Razor: EJ 89
Blade: Vintage Schick
Cream: Fauldings Shave
A/S: Wahl Bay Rum

Another excellent budget friendly shave. The Vulfix Pure Badger continues to impress me. It's the first Pure Badger I've used in 5 years and despite it's slight prickliness it's a great little brush. Lathers everything I've thrown at it and holds more than enough for my usual 3 passes and clean up.

Razor: Vintage Schick Injector
Blade: Generic Injector Blade (6)
Brush: Shavemac Americana DO1
Soap/Cream: Mystic Waters Sardinian Honey shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Un côtelette de porc splash
Aftershave Balm: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Un côtelette de porc balm
Cologne: N/A

Well THAT was a weekend. Visited my FiL and spent all weekend working in his yard (the one acre around the house) in the cold of Orange trying to tidy things up.

Stayed in the Mid City Motor Lodge, a tired 1980's 3 star (?) motel in the city in an un-refurbished room where you could here the neighbours on both sides. Loud sex, crying babies, snoring like a train and a 3am alarm and departure filled our evenings. The sink plug didn't really fit and the blade in my travel cart was crap.

So this should have been a wonderful shaving experience this morning in comparison - hmmmm, yes, the result was better, but that injector. It is just TOO easy I think ...

i cant handle aggressive razors and i really shouldn't of used this one but as my good mate @borked
says you should at least try it once and i tried it.......very aggressive by my standards and felt like i was using a wood plane.

Cold of Orange? I thought that would've been like going to the Gold Coast after Canberra, and Orange is still cold compared to Dubbo.:coldfeet: I was out at Wilcannia last week......sunny 20 degree days. Dubbo felt cold after that.

Pre: Coconut Oil
Soap: Pb Nettle n Neem
Brush: Old Badger
Razor: Gillette Slim
Blade: Gillette NACET
Post: Jojoba/essential oil mix

First run with the Nacet. Nice shave but ended up with quite a few weepers that my wife referred to as 'very unattractive'. The Nacet loses a lot of points straight up for that. I used setting 5 on 1st pass then 8 on next two so maybe I'll stay on 5 for next shave.
Off one shave I'd rate the Gillette Silver Blue, Nacet, then Rapira in order of performance. Does that equate to others experience?
The Nettle n Neem seems to lather better under the stiffer brush. Interesting at start of lathering it's like stringy plastic but then develops into a nice creamy lather.
If somebody's willing to be a guinea pig and try the Nettle n Neem I've got a puck I can send out. I'm looking for a bit of feedback. Probably should read my other two entries if you're going to put your hand up so you've got an idea what you're getting yourself in for. I'll see if I can put links here. https://www.paste-and-cut.com.au/community/threads/nettle-n-neem-shaving-soap.4135/ , https://www.paste-and-cut.com.au/co...the-day-thread-2017.3493/page-187#post-104112 . PM if interested.

Somebody else mentioned Photobucket are changing to subscription. $400/yr if you want 3rd party hosting! Is Paste and Cut about to lose a lot of images? Looks like I'll have to find alternate.

Re-lather and warm rinse

I'm baffled. 3 day growth and this combo just mowed it down. 3 pass shave and complete BBS - no irritation and not even a single weeper. I loaded heavily with a squeezed out brush and was rewarded with abundant lather as I added water. It's one of my best shaves but it was the sixth shave with this blade! I'm learning something here... the Fatip is a great razor and the aggressiveness is tamed nicely by letting the blade have more runs. That also means I don't have to worry about blade alignment for a lot longer - it's all good! This razor has gone from being near the bottom to near the top of my list...

I'm also still picking up sandalwood from the soap a couple of hours afterward thanks to not using any post shave product.
