Another succesful shave today wednesday:
pre: shower + warm wather before lathering
shavette: The Bluebeards revenge
blade: Astra green
soap: APR Fougere Borbon Rose
Brush: FS mixt (face lathering)
After-balm: the stray whisker
After-splash: B&M reserve classic

Finished on my left side against the grain with a DE razor

So I've been really pushing my synth to learn performance nuisances.

Today, i loaded up the SV for a few seconds and forget about paste or proto lather, it was just a bit of froth!!

I face lathered and it turned into such a fantastic lather and it was so slick that i had one of those "is there a blade in this razor?" type shaves!

Blooming, heavy loading etc is just not needed IME. The heavier the load, the more water and agitation it needs and more goes to waste.

Of course there's limits to this as too little soap will lead to a crappy, thinned out frothy lather, instead of a slick and creamy lather.

Gave the Black Hawk a run this morning. Not as intuitive as the General and the angle didn't feel as natural though that may be just lack of familiarity. Was happy with the result this morning but noticing a heavier shadow tonight although that's comparing to previous shave that was with a straight razor. Won't be sad when the Proraso is finished. A tub of soap is going to have to make it's way into the travel kit.

Re-lather and warm rinse

I've lost a fair bit of weight recently so my skin is getting a bit loose. Got a couple of nicks today using a low mirror because I didn't stretch it adequately. I thought I just ran over a bump the first time but no...

This cream works better when I use more product in a big badger. I still won't replace it but it does an OK job now. 3 pass BBS.

The Baby Smooths provided a wonderful close shave with no negative issues whatsoever and the Australian Private Reserve soap a fantastic lather - happy days.

Onto "Le Grand Chypre" this morning. Usual creamy lather and nice scent. Will try a Feather blade tomorrow with the "Cologne Russe"

Very enjoyable late night shave tonight, and what a way to see out the night ;)
