Proraso green pre/MWF/Rockwell 6s R4
semogue 1305/Astra green (3)/Trumpers skin food
First time with a soap (rather than cream). Ran out of lather quite quick and had to go back in for seconds....although that might also be down to a new brush as well. Liking MWF though, very slick.

So nice, and much warmer this morning - +5 :)

Preshave - hot shower
Brush - Razorock Big Bruce
Soap - Dr Jon’s Classic
Razor - Rockwell 6s (3)
Blade - Gillette Black (3)
Aftershave - Speick

Today’s shave wasn’t as nice as the previous probably due to the blade feeling like it’s time to be swapped out. Still a nice DFS.
On another note, seen the dentist yesterday afternoon for some pain I’ve been having for a week or so. I couldn’t pin point the tooth or if it was top or bottom. Of course it turns out to be a wisdom tooth that is unhappy! Booked to see the specialist at end of July but will probably be getting all 4 of the pricks removed.

All I can think about is how can I shave after the procedure with a tender face...

Hummm... that was it, a cypress, very different to other splashes I have :) . I actually used it this early morning as my only scent (no EdP)and was quite evolving. That coinferous (Hinoki) remains after other notes vanished (some non standard citrus there?)

It's a very different design, normally I want to establish horizontal accords of various notes but with this fragrance I wanted a vertical accord to make the Hinoki shine.

Tims friend had the Hinoki sent direct from Japan for the perfume too. Funnily I see 'Idoru' sets or splashes come up from time to time and it always reminds me of the process we went through working up the fragrance and getting Tim's reaction when he first experienced it. I still find it very hard to wear because of this.

I don't have any pictures but just yesterday I used my 1930's Gillette Tech Ball End razor with my grandfather's old wooden handle brush, some barbasol shaving cream with an Astra SP Blade. The shave was very smooth when I was done. In my opinion the old Gillette DE's are very, very awesome and efficient. You can tell I'm a huge sucker for the Gillette DEs by my name and my introduction post "Hello everyone''. :)

Haha. It went right back in the cupboard after the photo untill use thismorning. I may bubble wrap the bathroom floor on the weekend.

A couple of heavy 'designer' bath mats (chosen by the good wife) around the shaving area is my implementation, it has saved many an expensive brush and bottle from hitting the tiled floors.

Rockwell 6S R3 w/ Polsilver (5)
Yaqi Tuxedo
Declaration Grooming Darkfall Soap/Splash/EdP
TSW After Balm

Such an awesome Winter fragrance :)

Yeah I love the Darkfall. I only do one spray of the fragrance though for work.

You know, I bought the set (as I do most stuff lol) just off the marketing write up. When I first opened the box , I hated the smell. But man it only took one shave to turn it around. It grows on me with every shave.

Your APR bottles can take a hit, I was surprised that bottle did not desintigrate. I didn't just drop it, I opened a door and launched it off the bench! I blame the shoe box I live in.

Yeah they are tougher than most, definitely tougher than the brown boston bottles as the glass walls are thicker but tbh any drop over 50cm onto hard tiles of a full bottle will most probably lead to a smash, the same goes for brushes actually - I have seen some shocking pictures of Simpsons with cracked and busted handles.

Pre: my lemon Myrtle pre shave oil
Rockwell 6C R5 w/Polsilver
Yaqi Purple Haze synbad knot
AOS unscented tallow
Alum block/lemon Myrtle oil

Razor:
The 6C on R5 felt very comfortable. Barely any blade feel. It's very smooth shaving but I still find the R4 on the 6S to shave closer...strange!!

Brush:
My new Yaqi synbad brush is great! I really like this knot. It's like a hybrid of the timberwolf and tuxedo. I would have preferred a 26mm knot as this one has a 24mm. The purple haze handle is just fantastic!

My only unscented soap...I don't generally use it but I'm having allergies and chemical/scent triggered migraines so going totally scent free for the next few days.

This means no aftershave balm either. I rubbed the alum block followed by 2 drops of my pre shave oil. Worked out fantastic! Skin feels great!!

Pre-Shave: SebaMed, cold water
Razor: Rex Ambassador (3)
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Paladin Sumo Lapis
Lather: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Getting along great with the Rex and this shave was almost perfect. I still think, I can go a bit milder though.

This Paladin is becoming more and more my favourite - the knot is simply superb and the resulting Stirling lather was just perfect.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday (y)

If I may.... due to my lack of knowledge of scents-parfums.... I can easily decide if some scent must be a formal vs informal scent, and when is the situation to maybe use it. That idoru does not fit well in this way of separation, but it smell nice (It leave he cypress scent for many hours!!). AsI am lately a night shaver, I don;t make my accord on the morning.. Tomorrow I will ask some of the women around to explicitly smell me and to see what they got!. I don't care as along as ai like it, but yes, I realize it is a different thing in term of how it start and evolve.... :)
and for that, this is a scent that people may like or dislike.... it is not like Fougere bourbon rose, Suitabbly attired australian, General ledger etc... that no one could dislike.
Good thing is that I like it, bad thing is that once I finish the splash, there will be no more ever...

Eufros Premium Agarwood
SOC Taj Mix
King Pelican
Xerjoff Oud Stars Zafar

The boy scrunched his face up at this one. I asked him what it smells like and got the reply “Like you’re cooking cow muck, fruit and bacon”
Not a bad effort for a 7 year old to be fair. Just missing some ripe Gorgonzola

Pre: Warm water
Razor: Rockwell 6S (R4)
Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
Brush: Razorock BC Silvertip Synthetic
Soap: Phoenix & Beau Imperial Rum
Post: Proraso Red Aftershave Lotion

WOW. What a soap base P&B have on their hands - slickness was something else and my face felt really moisturised afterwards. I haven't tried any of the American artisans save B&M, but if they're better than this then I doff my hat off to them.

Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Personna 'Lab Blue' blade (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch distressed Culmak reknotted in TGN finest
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fenchurch shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fenchurch splash
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fenchurch balm
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fenchurch EDP

Is it possible at my age to fall in love again? Outstanding shave.
