Vintage XPEC/Xerjoff Warda Al Oud
Antica Barbieria Colla Boar
PILS - Polsilver
Xerjoff Warda Al Oud
A nice opportunity to burn some frankincense and myrrh and do a spot of meditation.
Once cleansed and enlightened it was time to get the vintage XPEC out I’ve been gifted and about $170 worth of Xerjoff Warda Al Oud Attar. Give them a mix and there it is, Warda Al Oud Shaving Cream.
I had a chubby 1 years ago and it took so much soap for me to complete my 3 passes!
It'll kill off the softer soaps fairly quickly!
Congrats on the AS-D2, @Pbgoose. I see you've paired it with a Feather blade - good combo. I find that it also works really well with Polsilvers, and sharper vintage blades such as the Gillette Platinum Plus. Once you got the hang of the angle of attack, this mild and very comfortable razor is surprisingly efficient.
Soap: Pb Puck No:2 (I think)
Brush: SOC Boar
Razor: AS-D2
Blade: Feather (3)
Post: Jojoba Oil
Pretty sure this is Puck No:2 (will the real Slim Shady......). I had used the HG pottery containers to store this so it's oxidised a bit and lost it's scent, but it lathered up beautifully.
First run of the AS-D2, and from reading reviews I was concerned the AS-D2 would be too mild for me. This was possibly the best shave I've had off a Feather blade, nearly BBS (is that a DFS+?). In discussions about the Rockwell Model T it was noted that the razor housing extends out past the blade. I assumed this would be an impediment shaving under the nose and so wrote off the Model T for me. I didn't realise this was also a feature of the AS-D2. However, it did not appear to be a problem with this morning's shave. So off this one shave I'd say the AS-D2 is a keeper (unless my son takes me up on the offer of owning it).
Enjoyable shave @alfredus . Thank you.
Thanks @TomG . That's why I bought it as I had read the Feather blade performs well with the AS-D2. I'll give it a go with the Polsilvers too. I had read the angle of attack was 45 degrees and found that it was pretty intuitive, not too finicky, so am happy with it.Congrats on the AS-D2, @Pbgoose. Brilliantly mate. It's fairly efficient but smooth as silk. The handles bit longer than I'm used to but still enjoy it.How did the Charcoal Goods go?

In what way was it bad? Soap, blade etc.Almost the worst DE shave yet!
Back to basics next round.
I thought it may have been the blade then I changed it and the wilky still didn't perform as well as it has in the past so I think my lather may have been off or the pre soap I'm not sure. I felt plenty of residual slickness between passes but it didn't seem slick whilst shaving. In what way was it bad? Soap, blade etc.
