I had a chubby 1 years ago and it took so much soap for me to complete my 3 passes!

It'll kill off the softer soaps fairly quickly!

Vintage XPEC/Xerjoff Warda Al Oud
Antica Barbieria Colla Boar
PILS - Polsilver
Xerjoff Warda Al Oud
The wife has gone to work in London for a few days and the boy is with the outlaws.
A nice opportunity to burn some frankincense and myrrh and do a spot of meditation.

Once cleansed and enlightened it was time to get the vintage XPEC out I’ve been gifted and about $170 worth of Xerjoff Warda Al Oud Attar. Give them a mix and there it is, Warda Al Oud Shaving Cream.

That's pretty awesome!!

I love that shot of burning frankincense and myrrh!!

On a related note, I have a tub of "Soap Smooth" frankincense & myrrh shave soap and it's beautiful!!

Smells very similar to the F&M EO's my parents used to put in the oil burner when I was young.

Rockwell R4 w/Polsilver
Yaqi two band finest
Shaver Heaven DrogonNoir (vegan)
Anherb balm

The SH soap is the original vegan formula in the blue tub. One of the simplest ingredients of all my shave soaps and it not only lathers up great but there's no dryness after the shave, even though it contains no lanolin, milks, butters, waxes etc.

The Yaqi is awesome! But this is the maximum I'd go in terms of density. Any more and I would have sold it.

Soap: Pb Puck No:2 (I think)
Brush: SOC Boar
Razor: AS-D2
Blade: Feather (3)
Post: Jojoba Oil
Pretty sure this is Puck No:2 (will the real Slim Shady......). I had used the HG pottery containers to store this so it's oxidised a bit and lost it's scent, but it lathered up beautifully.
First run of the AS-D2, and from reading reviews I was concerned the AS-D2 would be too mild for me. This was possibly the best shave I've had off a Feather blade, nearly BBS (is that a DFS+?). In discussions about the Rockwell Model T it was noted that the razor housing extends out past the blade. I assumed this would be an impediment shaving under the nose and so wrote off the Model T for me. I didn't realise this was also a feature of the AS-D2. However, it did not appear to be a problem with this morning's shave. So off this one shave I'd say the AS-D2 is a keeper (unless my son takes me up on the offer of owning it).
Enjoyable shave @alfredus . Thank you.
Congrats on the AS-D2, @Pbgoose. I see you've paired it with a Feather blade - good combo. I find that it also works really well with Polsilvers, and sharper vintage blades such as the Gillette Platinum Plus. Once you got the hang of the angle of attack, this mild and very comfortable razor is surprisingly efficient.

Thanks @TomG . That's why I bought it as I had read the Feather blade performs well with the AS-D2. I'll give it a go with the Polsilvers too. I had read the angle of attack was 45 degrees and found that it was pretty intuitive, not too finicky, so am happy with it.

Have a great Friday gents...

My last two shaves. I have spacing my last shaves almost 48 hours to keep enjoying the soaps and their performance. So these two were done by face lathering

Things between these two are becoming clearer (bufflehead still to face lather). Talbot was a much easier to lather on the face, and I got much tchicker lather on it. Both shaves were very good, but with the Talbot simply just amazing!. Some of the best face shaves I remember. That's a really good soap. I reckon I may have underload with SMG, so while the shave feelings were very good, I didn't get superb luxurious lather.
From the splashes, very nice both, but of course, with a great shave you already have a great skin feeling. Adumbrare is so far the scent I have liked themost from B&M.
The two blades tried already had perform very well. I reckon both Polslvers are vintage? This last one I have been able to find out that was made in Poland. They also look to be length blades too.
First sniffs to the parfums, This Tom Ford looked happy with Adumbrare. Well, the microdrop I left under my nose :)
Nest one will be Bufflehead and afterwards will be back for a while to my standard shaving routines, including abusing of splashes :D

In what way was it bad? Soap, blade etc.
I thought it may have been the blade then I changed it and the wilky still didn't perform as well as it has in the past so I think my lather may have been off or the pre soap I'm not sure. I felt plenty of residual slickness between passes but it didn't seem slick whilst shaving.

Razor: Vintage Gillette L1 'Slim' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Super Stainless (10)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mystic Waters Sardinian Honey shaving soap
Aftershave: Pitralon 'Swiss' splash

Great soap and splash and outstanding razor. I really could use this one the rest of my life ...
