When you lather up with a 50 year old NOS soap, you're not sure what to expect, even with an esteemed brand such as Creed. Fragrance has pretty much disappeared; a faint powdery scent with maybe a touch of spice.
I bloomed the puck, which seemed to work well in re-hydrating the surface of the soap. Loading was a little slower than normal, but surely understandable in the circumstances. The lather produced was truly excellent; very slick and comfortable on the face. Two passes for a DFS result. I always coat the remaining lather after my final pass onto my face whilst I clean up, and the lather felt very soothing during this step. Finally, a pretty good post-shave feel. I am really glad that I took the punt on this vintage soap - it certainly delivered!

Soap/Cream:- Mitchell's Wool Fat (rub like a shaving stick and face lather)
Razor/Blade:- Karve CB 'E' / Vintage NOS England Wilkinson Sword #6
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic
Fragrance:- L'Eau Bleue D'issey Pour Homme

I know that we all dream every night - but I generally don't remember my dreams.

This morning before I woke up I had NIGHTMARE. I was talking to @todras's father in the dream. He was an orthodox Jew and was telling me that Dan's little perfume and shaving business was not Kosher - so he had convinced him to shut down APR entirely and forever.

While that may be the weirdest dream ever I just HAD to shave with APR this morning - long may it reign!

Such an enjoyable single pass DFS with a stunning 6/8" full hollow blade.
24 mm Omega boar and a great soap.
Finished with a light almost invisible smear of Macadamia nut oil with Lemon Myrtle.

A few laps on linen and leather ready for the next shave.

Originally produced in 1964 as a perfume, the 'Brut 33' we came to know was thus named due to the dilution being 33% of the original perfume base. It is also one of the highest selling and most commercially successful contemporary fougères of all time. Like most of the classics, It has regrettably been reformulated endlessly due to restrictions placed on many of its original compounds though.

Used Olieve & Ollie's Body Butter (Lavender and Rose Geranium) as a moisturiser. This stuff is great, really rich. Very noticeable difference between plate 4 and 5 of the Rockwell, but smoothness is similar at least for me.

In Hobart for a long weekend with the wife. Decided to bring my Windsor which has been lathering up nicely here.

Weather is nice. Haven’t yet taken a photo for the other SOTD thread for those following along at home!
