Sunday evening shave. After getting fresh news that will keep me "out of the world" next week

pre: a bit of cold water for face lathering
razor: merggard 42c with a derby blade
brush: Semogie 2000
soap: LA Toja Stick
splash: Floid mentolado suave (with a top up of B&M Seville)

I wanted to try face lathering this brush (never face lather before with boar) and also try derby blades, so the soap was La Toja, as I know it very well on face lathering purposes. The brush did a great job, but I am not quite happy with Derby blades. No cuts but I felt a bit more skin irritated than, for example with Astras, wilkis, guilletes or Feather. Definitely, and so far, it is not something for daily use on my face.

cheers

Really enjoying this razor so far. So smooth, it even challenges the Rockwell.

@Korbz next time when you pick up Rockwell just used the R5 base plate throughout the whole shave using the Gillette Nacet blade, because is very smooth and efficient throughout the whole shave you won't be sorry

Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' (5)
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Stainless blade (1)
Brush: Shavemac DO1 Americana shaving brush
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert Shave Soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert Aftershave
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert EDP

So green, so nice.

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Castle Forbes pre-shave gel
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Soap: Tabula Rasa Steampunk
Razor: UFO Tornado / ATT S1
Blade: Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus (2)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdT: Tabula Rasa Steampunk

Lovely three pass shave with a few buffs for a BBS result. My bathroom is engulfed in a cloud of spicy violets.
The Tabula Rasa soaps have wonderful scents, and allow very close blade contact for a correspondingly close shave. Its secret weapon is the post shave feel - I am yet to experience a soap that betters it in this regard (as my shaving compadre @Snooze would probably testify). If they could just dial up the residual slickness, it would be close to unbeatable.

I agree 100% @TomG - I have Tabula Rasa 'Herbs' and it is TOO moisturising for use in summer - its perfect for colder weather though. Haven't tried the Steam Punk yet (y)

Really nice shave off this combo.
How did you find the Meissner? I was looking for the Scottish scented one for a while but never found one

You mean where to get it? There's a couple of online shops that sell it.

The English Shaving Company - https://www.theenglishshavingcompany.com/shaving-soaps-and-creams.html?ow_brand=212&p=1
I think they're out of stock of the Scottish.

Connaught Shaving - http://connaughtshaving.com/mtssr.html
They appear to have the refills in stock.

Gifts and Care - https://www.giftsandcare.com/en/72-shaving-soaps#/brand-meissner_tremonia
They appear to have the refills and tubs available.

If you get it I'm keen to hear what it's like. I'm loving the Moroccan Rhassoul.

I actually meant how do you rate the soap? I can see how my post was a bit misleading.

Razor: EJ DE89 w/ Astra platinum
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Soap: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
Post: The Stray Whisker After Balm.

Soap is amazing. So smooth. However I was not to happy with the blade, that was the second shave with that blade and it felt like it went from not cutting to scratchy.

It was a bit muggy tonight for the balm as well.

The scent of the soap was amazing. That was my first try of anything with an Oud scent. Loved it.
