Soap: Mystic Water Soap - Brown Windsor
Brush: Vie Long - Horse/Badger
Razor: GEM Micromatic OC
Blade: GEM
Post: Jojoba Oil
AS: The spice of the Brown Windsor has made me feel like Sangre de Drago
Finally getting the lathering of this soap dialed in. Spent a bit of time with the lathering with careful additions of water and it came up the thick creamy lather rather than the aerated foam I've been getting. Made for a very nice DFS with the Micromatic this morning. Love that Vie Long. :)

Brush: Semogue boar
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Filarmonica Stainless
Post: Witch Hazel,Nivea, Vietnamese Fougere I found in Op Shop

Steady two passes with the Fili, still have a couple of spots that I have a little trouble getting the blade to work properly.Mainly next to voice box on left, and coming over the chin to underneath but getting better. Pic doesn't show how slick and shiny the lather was.Random EDP I found in Op Shop had two other bottles with it,figure about 30ml and all in boxes and full, did some google searching and from Saigon Perfumes.Cheap but not bad scents and even had one of the students mothers comment last night at training. One of them even has a bit of musk note so perfect for me.Already mentioned cheap.Just the sort I like.

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket

A 3 pass BBS on 2 days growth with a few nicks as I played around with the settings mid shave. Another winner with the soap as I thouroghly enjoyed the sweet scent and abundance of warm lather. Finished off with some witch hazel and the PAA aftershave. Happy shaves and enjoyable remainder to your weekend gents!

Totally loving the freedom of my whole den. Mmmm. The Gillette Bostonian is just fun to use and this 86ish year old gave a smooth weeperless BBS in three passes with pickups using yesterday's Gillette Stainless blade. If I had to reduce all my razors down to two it would be this and The General.

The Crown King soap forumla is lovely and this kind PIF from @TomG is a powdery hay I really enjoy. And it's nothing like Lemon Chill!!! Hahaha.

Saturday lazy, long shaves are the best.

Brush: maggards 30mm synth
Soap: gd mallard
Razor: 6s (4)
Blade: gillette platinum(5)
Post: fresca splash/edp
The mallard soap is a great performer but I just can't gel with the scent. To me it smells of cheap chocolate essence. At least the scent is gone at the finish of the shave. The platinum blade has been quite good to me the first shave was a bit rough but after that it has smoothed out nicely up till
Today. It is at the end still smooth but starting to tug a little and nowhere near as close a shave as it has been giving.
I actually have the same problem with the GD mallard. I was hoping to get the newer mallards to try and see if their scents have improved. The vegan soaps I got at the same time, also had a strong scent to the soap base and smelt cheap, though they are great performers. Does anyone know if the scents have improved in the newer releases?

I'm thinking on one of those EJ 89's I had one a way back but was in the early stages of returning to wet shaving and really don't think knew what was good about this razor so may get another
I could quite cheerfully carry on using one exclusively. By far and away my favourite and best performing razor.

Razor: Parker Variant Adjustable (2)
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Stainless blade (5)
Brush: Shavemac DO1 Americana shaving brush
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert Shave Soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert Aftershave
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Coeur de Vert EDP

OK, I have to admit that sometimes, OK, often, I zone out while shaving. It happens but I'm not really concentrating as my mind is elsewhere.

That happened this morning. With the Parker Variant Adjustable. On setting 2.

The result - a really great shave!

So it really cannot be all that hard can it? What a smuck I was originally ...

This is why the original razor of this design, the merkur progress, remains my favorite razor ever!

The variant is basically the same thing but I like the progress a bit better.

First use of my bargain Fat Boy after some "expert" toothbrush work, it came up pretty good !

. Does anyone know if the scents have improved in the newer releases?

That's a negative, he needs to stop pumping out the releases and concentrate on the perfumery because it needs a hell of a lot of work.

I have 5 of his vege soaps and the fragrances on most of them barely get across the line. I am not too fussed as it's a great performing soap which is why I bought it but if you are the type of person that gets hung up on wash-off product fragrances then I would say they are not for you.
