Now you are just showing off to the green eyed monster :wideyed:(y)
Nice razor, how does it shave? Anything special compared to Slim/Fatboy or is it all about the toggle?

For what it's worth the Toggle is an exceptional shaver. It's clear ahead of the Fatboy/slim. @TobyC is right.. it's weight and balance is spot on. The knurling makes it the gripper option too. Much more efficient hence dialled down a bit. Smoothe as butter but with more blade feel. Thought initially it would shave the same but forget the rarity. It deserves the accolades for its performance more. Works with any blade I put in it.

2 pass WTG + touchups daily shave = DFS+. Practically BBS, great shave.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony
Soap/Cream: Murphy & McNeil - Barbershop De Los Muertos (y) @rhodes96
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Kai PINK
Post-shave: Shower, Homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+.
COTD: Yemen Mocha Ismaili

About time I started making some more inroads on all these samples everyone's been sending me, so today's is another random selection. Barbershop De Los Muertos is apparently a homage to Jubilation XXV Man by Amouage, for those in a position to recognise such things. Citrus-forward, backed by lots of woods. Much more complex than my normal choice, but nice nonetheless, and great lather performance.
Here are the scent notes M&M give:
  • Top: Cistus labdanum, Coriander, Orange, Davana, Frankincense, Blackberry
  • Middle: Honey, Bay, Cinnamon, Orchid, Rose, Clove, Celery seed, Gaiac wood
  • Base: Patchouli, Opoponax, Myrrh, Atlas cedarwood, Musk, Moss, Ambergris, Oud wood, Immortelle
If you get half of that, you're doing well IMO. Big stuff. (y)

Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- Shavemac Finest 23/46
Soap:- Murphy & McNeil - Triskele
Razor: 1960 Fatboy F4 @ 5
Blade:- Gillette Super Stainless (9)
Aftershave:- Murphy & McNeil - Triskele

Love the quality, performance and scent of Murphy & McNeil products. The soap does not require any extra water other than what is left after the brush has had a good wringing.
Triskele is M&M take on traditional barbershop with Citrus, Fir, Rosemary, Incense, Lavender and Patchouli. Initial scent from the aftershave is unexpectedly slightly earthy and cooling

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Tarkine" 26mm Tuxedo
Soap/Cream: Tallow & Steel - Boreal (y)@rhodes96
Razor: RR SS Hawk V3
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post-shave: Shower, Homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+.
COTD: Yemen Mocha Ismaili

I've never used Tallow & Steel soaps before, so this is a refreshing introduction in more ways than one. A very resinous accord with lots of woods, it almost comes across as being mentholated. T&S helpfully give proportions in their ingredients list, so I'll quote them here: "Cedarwood (25%) | Cedar Leaf (20%) | Balsam Fir (13%) | White Spruce (13%) | Black Spruce (13%) | Monarda (9%) | Birch (7%) | 100% natural aromatic extracts from botanicals". I need hardly add that performance is up there with the very best.

The scent strength is what I would call assertive. Not at all the kind of thing I would have sought out for myself, but nonetheless rewarding to have experienced. I reckon this would be an attractive alternative for any menth heads around here.
