Continuing with the creams and balms theme I’ve chosen for this month, today I used these long held Proraso items. The cream has dried out a little but was still great. Great, back to basics shave with the Mercury 34c HD.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Yaqi Barberpole Tuxedo 30mm
Soap: Squadron Group Captain's Blend
Razor: Cheap and nasty Wahl DE Shavette
Blade: Astra Green (1)
Post-shave: Alum Block, Nivea Aftershave Balm and some of the Missus' face stuff.
Coffee: Washed Guatamalan "Las Flores" from b3 Coffee.

Was a good shave today, my technique with the shavette is improving, nowhere near the same amount of feedback from the alum block after today. Group Captain's blend is always a pleasure to lather up and a nice change from the babershop scents I've been binging on lately. Also, does anyone know when Squadron is reopening their webstore? I'm starting to run low and wetshavingco is out of stock of a lot of their stuff too (plus I'd rather buy local and support a veteran owned business as well).

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Simpson PJ2
Soap: C&S Oxford & Cambridge
Razor: Ralph Aust 4/8
Post-shave: Cold towel

I enjoyed this shave so much that I caved in and ordered a few unscented Valobra pucks from Heldenlounge:cool: Despite the relatively high shipping price it still worked out quite a bit cheaper per puck , compared to what I paid for the O&C ( and it's a slightly bigger puck , too) .

Don Marco splash

Another incredible shave with 1 XTG and 2 ATG passes.. BBS is no longer an achievement but rather business as usual. Irritation? weepers? what are these things again :)

What did you oil your Rocca with? Mines a little on the dull side.

/ Dscosmetic T4
/ Nordic Shaving Company Coffee
/ Robin Razor Snap V2 base plate
/ Gillette Minora 1/2 (2)
/ The Ordinary Mandelic Acid + HA
/ Nivea Skin & Stubble

Welp. Turns out I probably also had subpar lather the last shave. Shave was smoother last night, though I still think the blade is rougher than usual for a Minora.

Pre-shave:- Shower

Starting to feel the burn with 1.30 - a bit more efficient and slower regrowth but not quite DFS+ after 2 x WTG

The cynic in me wanted to buy a DG knot to see if they are worthy of all the hype and exuberant price and was fortunate to find a few wet shavers over the pond willing to part with them for reasonable prices.
Definitely worth the hype (y)(y)(y)

Yesterday was "Thursday" Titan 1918 ACRO T.H-70 face lathered with vintage Palmolive (Australian) stick.

This morning's was "Friday" Titan 1918 ACRO T.H-70 face lathered with tallow Tabac stick.

Thursday (LH)and Friday (RH)
For shaving stick soap, this vintage Palmolive (Australian) cannot be faulted. Unfortunately this stick is the last that I have.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Watermelon" 28mm
Soap: Vintage Yardley
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+ , Oxford & Cambridge cologne
COTD: Mocha Matari, Yemen

Having had another couple of skin cancers removed yesterday, this time from my right hand (don't forget your sunscreen boys and girls) I'm currently encumbered by a large dressing making the hand essentially useless. So I've put aside the cream I've been using for my SOTW in favour of my King of Soaps, as the milled product lathers much more quickly and easily. Yes, you read that right.

The Vector makes shaving with my left hand easy and safe enough but even so, I was still content to settle for a DFS.
