Looks like you won't become member of the ARKO! Fanbois club then. Not sure how you'd mix two hard soaps unless you grated them both together in bowl.

Surprised with this bluebird.
Has managed three shaves in a slim adjustable.
Must be the Arko !

To which I've a theory, if one was to Frankenstein it with a stick of Speick, it would be intriguing to see what olfactory difference it would maketh and indeed, if it would be more agreeable.

I was going to like this post until I read the last paragraph. Someone missed the 1918 cable that Constantinople and Berlin were not allowed to play together any more!

Weird little travel brush
TOBS lemon lime cream
Trusted Bakelite with English Wilkie. Seventh shave with this blade. Still very sharp. I'm throwing it around assuming its a bit more forgiving but I've got to still treat it like its on its first.

...and why would that be ?

Stayed with the Erasmic and a shiny new English Wilkinson. Loaded into the Slim set at 7 and, after everyone's comments on the sharpness of the blade proceeded with caution. I have to say however I really didn't notice a great deal of difference between this and the Indian Wilkinson's I have. Sped up the shave and at no point did I feel I was going to get bitten by this blade. I expect and hope I get more than 4 shaves from it as I do like a blade that I can slash around the face without fear of losing a lip or nostril. Nice blade no doubt but a Slick Schick or Spoiler it aint.

After one shave? You've been at those pills again. At this stage I'm not sure if this blade will live up to a comparison with a Slicky but for me it's easily as good, in terms of longevity at least, as a Spoiler.

I tried a Polsilver SI blade today and had a really smooth and easy shave with some new stuff that arrived this morning, Mitchell's Wool Fat soap and some Speick AS and Balm.

I was expecting the soap to be difficult but it lathered beautifully.

I am really enjoying the choices with this DE shaving malarkey.

Bought a new toy off of eBay . A 1912 auto stropper been using it for the past few days with paste. This morning was a 'No Name' straight. Here's a few photos.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1394634406.554057.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1394634428.343934.jpg

Well it was the 'new' restored Simmo having its first run for me this morning with some DR Harris Marlborough - another new one to me.

Great shave for a first time use of brush and soap. Still a little funky but soft and really nice to use. It is my biggest brush in the rotation as you can see below

There is one brush that looks a little out of place ....

Shave 3 with the 'vette. Trumper Limes still (I love this cream, though I have a few other good ones I always just go right back this one, haha). Trumper Limes Skin Food afterwards.

Still the same blade, still super smooth after one pass. Skin is loving it. I'm absolutely amazed I'm getting this good a shave out of this.

You do realise that that is a discriminatory, borderline racist observation! It's only skin deep, a quick treatment with a low grit sandpaper will turn the red/orange-ness back to the original faux ivory rather than the current faux Indian look.

Having said that, I love the faux-Indian handle I got from our itinerant Canberra butterscotch man (ICBM). Without any markings on it to prove otherwise I'm calling it, complete with battle scars and a band of war paint, Cochise:

Not at all PJ - the blade has had a write up from users that indicated it was very sharp first up (apart of course fromRM) - Found it on a par withe its Indian cousin. I will be delighted if it has somewhere near the longevity of either of the other 2 reference blades.

Watch out or I'll send you some more!
Don't get me wrong - I appreciated the PIF and actually enjoy shaving with a blade that you can move acros your face in any and all directions without fear and still get the whiskers off.

Anyhow back on topic.
Shave 8 and 9 with the UK Wilkie. It's lost a bit of sharpness but still giving very comfortable close shaves. Almost Schicksa material.
For the rest it was the new brushes and TOBS lemon/lime cream.

You use that on straights?
Yes. It was originally sold for use with str8's or with the resharping SE blades in a holder. Been using it now everyday. Only chg from the original was a new/old leather strop that I had. It was the exact same size as the 'old' one.
Does it work ? Yes.
