@possumbelly, mate you sound in a happy place face-wise. I admit I'm going to have to look a few of these acronyms up - as most are Hungarian to me. Probably put a few on my wish list. But got to say I got a buzz from the buzz you got for your Monday's shave. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks @stillshunter. All the abbreviations start to make sense after a while
OCMM. Open comb micromatic
RIP soap. Rest in peace - first one I've ever finished.
PTFE. Polytetrafluoroethylene. Basically "Teflon"
ASB. Aftershave balm
(ASL. Lotion).
EDT. Eau de toilette

I am still waiting to hear who is next in line for the travelling R41. Maybe you - who knows
I am interested in trying it, yet not sure if I'm next in line...

........Great shaves with the OCMM. Very close. Love the way it leaves my neck with no irritation. Still can't understand how it does that compared to many of my DE razors which inevitably irritate the area when I try for an extra close shave............

Every time I use an SE I'm amazed how close it shaves. It really feels and sounds agricultural compared to DE shaving. You're a braver man than me using an OCMM. great to have another true SE shaver here rather than the @gthomas04 half-arsed attempts.

Once again those very few souls in the world who have attempted to lead the masses to greater heights must suffer the slings and arrows from those who were not capable of the incandescent brilliance of thought that led to the TM of shaving. However I believe I am in good company - think Leonardo da Vinci, Einstein and other greats - all criticised for daring to express their world changing vision. From on high we can only feel pity for the poor wretches who clong to their antiquated ways, unwilling to go beyond the bounds of their ancestors and therfore to remain in the world of shaving darkness. (Of course @Mark1966 is excluded form such criticisms having been brave enough to embrace the new and find it was yay verily good).

So you are telli g us we are a pack of gents GT?
Hey watch the language!
Take a leaf out of a book from cultured man visiting Canberra called Christopher Pyne….it's "grub".
"You are a packs of grubs."
Sheesh, show some respect for your betters hey!

MWF / Proraso lather
Mühle synthetic brush
Baxter of California ASB
Merkur 39C slant with feather blade 3rd shave.

I used the Sledgehammer for the third time today.
Decided to change my technique a little, I used virtually zero pressure!

This gave me an amazing shave, BBS in three passes with the smoothest shave ever.

This thing is not aggressive at all, but it mows the stubble very efficiently, I'm liking this razor more.

It will stay in my rotation now!

More shave of last night than shave of the day but nevermind - SE followed by the Slim on 7 with and Indian Wilkinson.

Needed a change from the Tabac block so changed to (now come to attention cheersquad on the count of three)

ARKO!!! ARKO!!! ARKO!!! OI OI OI.

Very good team you may sit down now.
The usual lovely smell (brought back memories of too many late nights in clubs with a belly full of beer) lathered like a rabid rat and all was well.

All is forgiven Glenn. In your honour ARKO!!! has gained a couple of extra exclamation points. As I'm throwing "likes" around like confetti at the moment, I'll even give your post one of them too.

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: UK Wilkinson/IP Red
Brush: Edwin Jagger (Super)
Soap/Cream: Proraso Red (tube)
After-shave: Razorock Aftershave Wax (Original)

The Duke was still a bit moist so re-unboxed the Edwin Jagger (EJ) Super and gave it a go with the Proraso Red and - and I know @Drubbing is going to gag here but - it lathered up really really nice! Didn't retain the lather at all like the Duke (2), which I'm sure will learn to share as it matures. But the EJ Super has been used less now - only 4 times total and it released lather like it had rabies.

Anyway, HUGE thanks to @glenos who shipped me some vintage blades. Tried my first one, the UK Wilkinson. Oddly it seemed super blunt. Not sure what happened, but after each stroke only about half the stubble was harvested. This continued through various adjustments - tried a little pressure, different angles, but it struggled. So I loaded an IP Red just to see whether there was something wrong with the razor…and it sliced through the hairs without issue. What did I do wrong with the UK Wilko? I put it aside to try again once I have your advice so I can get it right and not waste them…@glenos (legend!) also want to position myself properly for the other vintage blades - Schicks and Gillettes. Oh man I can't wait!

Otherwise was a lovely shave and I'm thinking again about whether I'll sell off the EJ Super at all. It really seems to like cream.

Oh yeah did I mention that that Razorock AS Wax rocks!!!

I have same problem with vintage blades. No good for my beard type! Felt really naughty/bad as I eventually binned them ::(

Heretic!

You will be sin binned if you do that again

You are dangerously close to discovering that backbone is radically over rated and flow through is king. Backbone assassins are likely en route, best lock the doors :)

You threw schickies in the bin??

Burn the witch! Burn the witch!!!!

Guys, I certainly didn't and don't want to….well not until they're done.
So I assume something has gone awry. What needs doing? It's all the same angles as the newer blades isn't it?

So backbone and flow-through are mutual exclusive? Hmmm….here's my lesson for the day.
So low loft boar brushes - lauded for their backbone, are bad lather hogs?

Not mutually exclusive no. My personal preference is for lather generation and release as the priority ahead of backbone though.

Toss as many wilkies as you like. Jam tin lids those things.

Schicks and spoilers though should be pif'd along if you don't like them!
