Toss as many wilkies as you like. Jam tin lids those things.

Schicks and spoilers though should be pif'd along if you don't like them!
So you saying the Wilkies are not the best of the three? As Schicks and spoilers is what else was in @glenos care package. So I'll try one of them two next.
My thinking is, if I don't like anything then it goes straight back to @glenos - his prerogative if they're PIFed beyond me.

I have same problem with vintage blades. No good for my beard type! Felt really naughty/bad as I eventually binned them ::(

Come on @Monsta_AU , why haven't you given him the ultimate heathen of heathen titles.

Toss as many wilkies as you like. Jam tin lids those things........

Surely you don't mean vintage Wilkies. I'm speechless. When you give us an avatar like Jugs I'll look at your posts again.

Gillette slim (2)
Schick plus platinum - shave 6 on this blade
Crabtree & Evelyn shave soap

Two days growth cleaned up nicely with the Schick blade. I was going to change blades tomorrow but this one is going so well I will push it a bit further.

Nice one @dreamboat.

@glenos sent me some of these blades, I might give them a go next. Sounds like they're serving you well….any words of experience with using them?

Use them like you would any other razor blade just for more saves. Should do 8-10 easy.

Progress with a new Voskhod blade set to 3.
TOBS Eton cream.
Boeckhs brush.
A great shave, I took my time and did a two passer with good results.
Eton is such a nice scent in winter.

Well the vintages I was very nicely given and thankful for getting the chance to try were all used for as ling as I could. I just get smoother shaves and more mileage from feather, astra, pols and perma sharps.

Almost Memorial Day. The unofficial start of our Summer season. Most of the Colleges have let out, elementary and high schools have a few more weeks.
Great shave his morning. Straight razor and Cella shave soap. The only marking on the razor states Blue Steel. No. It's not blue!

Gillette Slim (2)
Schick Plus Platinum (shave 8)
Crabtree & Evelyn

Blade still going strong, no nicks or pulling so very happy with it, haven't noticed any deterioration in performance at all.

Saying stuff far less controversial than that got me my title. So, welcome to the uncultured philistine list!

Cultured, very cultured.

My cousin loaned me his tub of Boellis. Lathered up with it this morning and a 3rd day Gillette Green. Nice job. The almond scent nearly tempted me to eat it.

These greens have Permasharp printed on the wrappers.
Anyone know if they are the "Permasharp"?

Nah that is a green gillette 7'oclock - Indian I think?

"The" Permasharp comes in a little gold and red cardboard box.

Speaking of which
ARKO! Adventure cream
Simmo '10'
"The" Permasharp Super (1)
Slim (7,7,7)
Loreal ASG

Wery nice 3 passer with a fresh PSS. Hard to beat.

Nope, the 'Permasharp Stainless' are Indian-made 7OC Greens and relatively hard to get these days. The Russian version are tagged 'Super Stainless'. They generally are called 'Indian Greens' and 'Russian Greens' on most forums. Shave performance is about the same to me - useful but not what I would call a great performer. They both slightly edge out the Personna Reds.

See this one for more info, shamelessly stolen from YKW.

What we call 'Permasharps' are actually 'Permasharp Super' blades. They are mostly available from bestshave.net and look like this:

Today's line up:
Feather AC SS w Super blade / Omega 37 boar / Mikes Vetiver + WM Neumann's Bay Rum soap / Thayer's lemon / Weleda ASB.

My first go with the Super Professional blade which has more blade exposed than the other feather AC blades. For my wiry whiskers, this definitely seems superior. I managed a full 3 pass shave without resorting to my DE. Still having some difficulty with certain angles and certain directions especially around the chin region. Neck and cheeks are going fine.

A very enjoyable (but perilous) shave! One small nick easily fixed w styptic.

Yeah, blades can have any combination of Super, Sharp, Plus, Stainless, Platinum written on the wrappers.

What? And nothing about the derisory assessments of vintage blades? You're losing it @Monsta_AU !

Thanks for the clarification. I've got a couple Perma-Sharps left in my stock - might give them a go later in the week.

I was lurking on bestshave.net recently as it came to my attention that they have Arko for under 2 bucks. What really got my attention were the Astra's for around $8.50 for 100. Amazing price!

Wow, you're braver than me.

Nah, what got me curious was the word "Permasharp (TM)" on the box/wrapper. But alas they are completely different to the Russian Perma-Sharp blades. The hyphen (and country of origin) makes all the difference.
