I made my pilgrimage to Bridestowe today, a bit late in the month to see all the lavender in its most colourful glory (and about half of it has been harvested, which they were a little disingenuous about on their Facebook page), but as the flower heads dry off, they flood the air with the most heavenly scent. ❤️

I actually have a few GEM razors but never found a good source for GEM blades... I know you can get industrial ones at Bunnings.

You cannot shave with Bunnings/GEM paint scraper blades. I purchased GEM blades made by Personna a few years back from Connaught Shaving in the UK. Their price and shipping cost was reasonable.

So what are your thoughts on the Kentucky Bourbon?
I've currently got a sinus infection and cannot smell a thing! My wife says it smells "nice", sort of like honey. I don't really buy soap/cream for the scent. The shave test is much more important.

As for the lather, all of Alesia's soaps that I have tried so far (3) have provided very good lather and slickness, including residual slickness for touch-ups. I have only used it twice and I am still experimenting with the water/soap ratio. It is a really soft soap but not quite a cream. In addition, $34 including shipping is within my price range. :) I don't like spending a lot on something that is just going to go down the drain. If need be, I could survive with a 65g tube of Palmolive for $2.25.
