Some of the Gillette razors need a different shave angle (handle either further away or closer to the face). The Open Combs are often more efficient than the usual bar razors and reward good technique. Sounds like you're getting there. Keep at it. I love my OCs -they are great shavers.
Thanks @filoboblic. I'm determined to find that magic spot with this one. It will not beat me! I feel like I've come a long way with technique, but I think I may well have a ways to go yet... In any case, I'm enjoying the ride. [emoji2]

Brush: Chubby 2 Manchurian
Razor: Super Adjustable
Blade: English Wilky
Cream: Ingrams
A/S: Fine Clean Vetiver

It's been a while since I used Ingrams. Can't imagine why, great scent, excellent lather and face feel with plenty of menthol.
The Chubby 2 continues to impress, I've finally got rid of the underlying badger smell and it's starting to break in slowly.

3P Preshave
Shaver Heaven Sweet Meyer Lemon
Brad Sears Shaveworks Manchurian
Ikon B1 slant
Gillette 7 o'clock Green (3)
Brut Sports Style aftershave

So I've been using Shaver Heaven soaps all week, some new, some old. They all work great but it seems the post shave feel has improved with each reformulation. I did struggle a little with the tallow soap but I think that was a matter of dialling it in.

The B1 slant was much more enjoyable than the X3. Smoother feeling in use.

Top day today. Brewed an all grain Brown Porter and re honed Ivan my CCCP favourite blade.
The pinnacle was a Coticule edged Ivan, Home brewed soap and big band music from the 1930's.
2 passes - 11/16" Russian steel
New Whipped Dog 24mm Long handled Silver tip badger.
One of my soaps I forgot to keep the recipe for. Of course it is a good'un
Hot and cold washer to finish.

48mm. The longer handle is 65mm and the size is ideal for eith bowl or face lathering. I intend to give a review of it after I have used it for a couple of weeks. So far terrific.

@bald as welcome to the Whipped Dog club I'm glad you're doing a review because I'm not very good giving a complete brush detail review, also is this you're very first WD silvertip 24/48mm brush.

Nice work Baldie. I am a huge fan of dark ales, porters and stouts. If fact, enjoying an imperial stout right now.

Tried again today with the PAA Al Fin and got a (very) faint whiff of rose - but that was it. I wonder if my nose just needs much stronger scents?

Eggs - it would be easy to presume that you have seared your olfactory nerve with so many years of menthol abuse, but.........
I suspect that the sample has oxidized and hence lost most of its fragrance.

That sounds a lot like a leg thief :)

Did you brew it yourself?

Steve
I wish!
Nah - it was a Founders from the US. A Perth Microbrewer (Feral) has recently released an Imperial Stout called Boris, and it is a ripper. My all time fav is Samuel Smiths.
