Very clever shot - could do with some menthol though :)

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
Soap: I Coloniali
Razor: ATT Kronos open comb M2
Blade: Vintage Wilkie Supersword (1)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
EDT: APR Bois de santal de verveine

Cracking shave tonight. The I Coloniali soap has a mysterious powdery musky scent that is both pleasing and comforting. Even if I work up the lather for some time, the lather has a slightly runny consistency. However, as others have noted, it seems to allow you to get very close blade/skin contact without irritation. Hence, 2 passes achieved a DFS+, and a final ATG pass resulted in a BBS finish. A fresh Wilkie supersword blade surely contributed to this. Interestingly, the blade feel with the ATT open comb is quite aggressive, but (like the vintage English Gillette Platinum), it results in minimal irritation/weepers.
Brilliant post shave feel, and a lovely citrus blast to finish with the APR aftershave.

Razor: Vintage Darwin Standard Razor
Blade: Wilkinson Sword 'Light Brigade' (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch SimpsonM1
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: ARP - les généraux du grand livre

It is a fine angle you need and a narrow band in which you must keep the head. A better second attempt for a close shave, less patchiness and a little less rawness but some weepers.

A gentle SLAP from the les généraux du grand livre and then some healing. We shall persist with this beauty to see if it can be mastered.

Saying goodbye to an old friend here - The finished products sticky

Busy few days and I wasn't able to get my SOTD's up from either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day. Normally I would let it go but these ones required some special mention :). Special thanks goes out to @SydBJW for his tremendous display of generosity.

Christmas Eve

The High Jump 47 is certainly a very different scent but I find it to be very agreeable. I can't put my finger on what the scent is but it is strangely familiar in some way. Of course the soap performs very well and the splash is outstanding. I really cannot fault the PAA offerings in terms of performance.

Another very different scent in the Le Petit Chypre. Although not disagreeable I am in this instance happy that it is not long lasting in the splash and allows me to use a cologne afterwards. The splash performs extremely well and leaves my skin feeling fantastic. The soap is OK and for me but I do not find a big difference between the Latha and White label soaps (I have Cheshire and Seville) with each performing on par with each other. For me the performance of B&M soaps is good and it is a quality offering but not as good as Stirling, Mike's or PAA for me. Please excuse me whilst I go and don my flame retardant suit :ROFLMAO:.

Well I made it, 3 days in the 'badlands' of SA - it's all boar, uber elite EU razors, and hand made soap down there..and the weather, well, let's just say I am glad I didn't bring too many jackets ;)

It was good to meet @bald as and @nsavage, two fine peers of the tallow and great blokes. Very much looking forward to scenting some of the handmade soap I was given by bald as as from looks alone it's cracking shave soap. Nick took his cues from @alfredus the great and had a bevvy of imported, LE razors on hand - some really nice pieces too. Some nice coffee and a good yarn was had and no 'japanese sports bikes' entered the picture either, so I was bloody glad of that.

Nice 2 pass today, back in the muggy humidity - the occam's just the ticket. Finished up with the sandalwood, lime, verbena Aftershave and balm which suited just fine!

Nice match with the Occam's and your own excellent aftershave products.

It was 35-40C in SA with 30% humidity which was quite warm but nice and dry, I get back to Sydney today and we have 28C and %70 humidity with more to come - It's that time of the year when the citrus, verbena and fresh scents really come into their own for me :)
