First time i've used a TOBS cream in what seems forever, it spurred the question why?
You really can't knock it, great scent, adequate protection, great slickness, excellent value for money and post shave feel isn't half bad either. Spoilt for choice or soap snobbery????
No matter what, it was an excellent shave (y)

Preshave: Facescrub Banh soap.
Razor/Blade: Aristocrat #16 w/ Wilkinson Sword
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood
Brush: Simpson Chubby2
Postshave: Thayers unscented, Aqua Balsamic, Emulsion, C&E Morrocan Myrrh EdT

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce
Soap: Beaver Woodright Ghost Ship
Brush: Shavemac 2 Band 24mm
Blade: Herder 77 6/8'
Strop: Kanayama (?)
A/S: Lea Splash

I haven't used the Ghost Ship for quite some time as it gets very soft in the heat. The last time I used it I mistakenly used a D01 2 Band and nearly destroyed the tub; it was like a propeller going through a trifle. But a few cooler days has returned the tub to it usual (still soft) self and it really is a fantastic soap. Easily top 5 scent.

Nice shave, I like the TOBS Sandalwood myself, it has a nice cologne base and lathers effortlessly.

One of the better Sandalwood scents in my opinion, nice and round, not sharp and not too "old fella" (y). I over done it with cream and had enough for probably 7or 8 passes had i wanted them, Simpsons chubby is such a lather hog it's a difficult call on how much product you actually need, but its cheap enough if over done :)
Matched the C&E EdT as well which is a bonus as the soap i have is the worst, so doesn't really get used.

Soap - Stirling Barbershop
Blade - Vintage PolSi
Razor - 34C
Brush - TF Capt. America HMW 26mm
Post - Thayers medicated and Blackship Davy Jones

Thought I'd give the 34C a run again just to get away from the Rockwell for a bit, but really reinforces how much I love it. Now I'm thinking more and more about an ATT/Timeless/blackbird this year.

Love the "propeller through a trifle " description @Psmith - I know exactly what you mean !!

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Semogue 1800 Boar
Soap: Valobra
Razor: ATT Kronos open comb M2
Blade: Vintage Personna 74 (17)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
EDT: APR Suitably Attired Australian

Gave the Valobra puck a good work out with the Semogue bristles. Loads of super-high quality lather, and easily enough for three passes and clean-up. Was at DFS after two passes, which is not bad for a blade on its 17th dance.
A lovely BBS result, finished with a splash of the refreshing and classy Suitably Attired Australian.

Fougère or Cologne Valobra @TomG ?

Just out of interest, Valobra is one of my new favourites.. the quality of lather is something the upper end Italian soaps do exceptionally well I am increasingly finding :)

Cologne. The scent is very subtle. Not sure if the Fougère is similar?

Yes indeed it is subtle, but the quality of the lather and it's performance is on a level where the fragrance is not paramount - it is a great soap!

Absolutely agree!

Saponifico Varesino 70th
Saponifico Varesino 70th Aftershave Balm
Australian Private Reserve - Acqua Di Sydney

A very leisurely Sunday shave after some good coffee, the first outing of the 70th today and the performance was as expected, excellent. The mandatory two passes, a cold water drenching then on with the 'goods'. SV do a nice balm and it contains some great skin care compounds without being overly drying, they do use a bit of glycerin which in dry weather can lead to skin dryness but with the humidity here today there is little risk of that.

So, Acqua di Sydney - APR's first marine scent, in keeping with the soap this is an Acqua Di Gio and not Acqua Di Palma based fragrance that is a bold citrus and marine number of lime, lemon, bergamot, jasmine, bitter orange and sweet orange with a few other things and it pairs exceptionally well with this soap which really is no surprise as that was my intention. It took me a while getting the marine notes right as marine notes are aroma chemicals, there are no essential oil to strike the notes but the final iteration of this fragrance is one that I am happy with and that will join the APR lineup in the near future. In essence this is an aftershave again born out of necessity, I had to have something to pair with this soap having read so much about it and I had to have something that was affordable and had the endurance. I will have very limited samples to give away at the Sydney Meetup next Saturday for those wanting a sneak preview.

Have a bloody good Sunday you blokes (y)

Great photo, and the Acqua Di Sydney scent profile sounds really good.

Nice late Sunday shave on yet another humid Sydney Saunarama day...

Isn't it just brutal, Ive been in the AC all day working away and whenever I travel to the rest of the non AC apartment it hits me like a wet blanket of fug. No doubt one of the hottest, most humid and unpleasant summers in Sydney I can remember in recent memory.
