Karma really happens sometimes...
(Above) I was pretty pleased when I managed to find this C.V. Heljestrand MK32 (6/8 full hollow) in seemingly very good condition and at a very reasonable price. I was even more chuffed when I opened the package to find that the razor is in pristine condition - much better than the price tag suggested. And then the bombshell hit - the razor is fitted with original ivory scales : just amazing!! The person who sold it obviously had no idea, because the scales should double the value of the razor instantly.
There is no doubt that Heljestrand made some of the finest razors ever, and many believe that the MK32 was their best razor ever. It certainly shaves like an absolute dream, and is already one of my most loved razors.
(Above) This NOS Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple (7/8 full hollow) turned up totally unexpectedly. It came in an EMS satchel from Japan which I'm pretty used to. Only thing is, I hadn't bought a razor from Japan for quite some time. When I opened the package, out popped the razor along with a card wishing me a Happy Christmas. Yes, my favourite Japanese razor dealer on Ebay had sent it to me as an incredibly generous Christmas gift!! Needless to say, I was temporarily speechless. And very relieved that I had sent him a Christmas gift before receiving the beauty above.
And what a beauty it is - absolutely flawless condition, and it delivers that legendary Filarmonica shave...
